Great hotel to stay overnight/ more than a night. Polite staff. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Pretty decent at this price. Worth spending money on. Had a great time. We stayed at this property for five nights and it was a nice experience, it is located right in the heart of the city which made commute very convenient, park street is just a five minute cab ride away, property is quite insulated from outside noise which is important. Property comes with all amenities that one would need for a longer stay - kitchen, fridge, ironing facility, air conditioning, car parking, 24*7 security and laundry facility (on payment basis). It was clean and had bedspace for four people. Arun Malik is an excellent host, he was very responsive, we wanted some help regarding commute and shopping; he gave inputs which turned out really helpful. Will highly recommend this property.

They need to arrange a certificate for booking the foreigners guest . Today they don’t have it and booking.com should be inform this information in their site as well.
Unfortunately, I booked this hotel and but I could not stay there as they said they cannot confirm my booking after they saw my passport. Anyway, I will manage another hotel to stay in the kolkata

The Harrington Residency heritage building (directly opposite the American consulate) was an amazing place to stay in Kolkata. Although the tariff was a bit more than we are used to paying in India it was truly worth the extra cost. Host Noni and her staff were friendly and very attentive to all of our needs including providing medical services contact details when I became quite unwell from a chronic condition of mine. Noni also provided us with a home cooked meal (an old Kolkata healing recipe), at that time.
The morning breakfast prepared by chef Gopal (chef not just a cook), was the best I have had in living memory. Noni and staff can advise re good local restaurants nearby. For transport around Kolkata (including to and from the airport) we found Uber (ride share) the best option. They would pick-up and drop off directly in front of the premises.
The room we had was huge and it led onto a large open common balcony which had comfortable seating which is a great place to relax when travellers are not out and about exploring all of the sites and experiences that Kolkata has to offer.
To top it all off the art gallery, which shares the second floor with the 3 rented rooms, had an exhibition during our stay and we had the good fortune to be invited to the opening and even got to speak with the artist and his wife which was a delight.
We would highly recommend anyone who is visiting Kolkata to do yourselves a favour and stay at Noni's Harrington Residency.

Had a fantastic stay at the Astor as a family of 4, of whom two were very young children. The hotel itself is a beautiful heritage property fitted with modern amenities while preserving the old world charm. The food is great. But the part that I loved the most was the service. In my travels around the world, this has been our best hospitality experience. The staff took wonderful care of us. Tripti from the front desk helped us right size our booking 24 hours before the check in (since we had mistakenly overbooked the number of rooms), allocated a very suitable suite for us with some extra space that the kids could use, ensured that my wife’s food preferences (non gluten) were taken care of, checked on us frequently to ensure everything was in place. The housekeeping team led by Anirban was fantastic and even took extra care to provide air purifiers and adjusted the throbbing bass from the club downstairs so that we could rest very comfortably with solid soundproofing. The restaurant team ensured that we were fully taken care of. I have absolutely no complaints and we left very grateful and satisfied with our stay. Thank you again Tripti, Anirban and team! We will be back.
