Before booking this hotel, I read all the reviews, both negitive and positive. Took the decision to give the benefit of the doubt. I am glad I did. Loved the location. Lots of activity. Walking distance to the Gateway to India. Did the walk twice and took over 600 photographs. The 2 managers, md-Taufiq Siddiquce and md-Nair Noraiz, are very friendly and helpful as for the rest of the staff as well. The rooms were clean, neat, and tidy. For a budget hotel, it is value for money. The breakfast was basic, but lovely. At breakfast, I had an 85-year-old retired doctor from Bahrain sitting at the table next to me. He mentioned he was over to carry out business commitments. He said he always stays at hotel Victoria Park as he grew up in the area. Our chatting and listening to his stories of growing up, attending medical school, and ending up practising in the UK was just something else. A very special man. I took away a lot of wisdom from meeting him. I will return. The photograph I have attached was taken from the dining room on the 8th floor, looking back at Mumbai. The Taj Hotel can be seen.
