A delightful stay in a historic building in the old part of town. The staff was outstanding and took care of all our needs. The air conditioning system was not working in the room we had booked so they quickly switched us to another room without a bother. For being so close to the main square, there was very little noise. The breakfast is outstanding and made to order which is a nice change from other hotels in Brazil. If your budget allows, this is a great choice.

The breakfast was delivered to the room each morning by the cheery Sandra. Everything came as ordered - choose the cake and the regional speciality each day is our tip, these were the best. Coffee, eggs, juice, all good. We loved our room at the back of the building, it was very spacious and uniquely fitted out according to its age and the symbols and colours of Iemenja, the water spirit/orisha. We loved our location and hearing the drumming - it didn’t keep us awake as it finished by 10 when we were there in October.

I loved literally everything. I have stayed in many hostels and guesthouses around the world in many continents, but this one really stands out. It is probably my favourite place I have ever been to. If this place is available, BOOK IT NOW! Amazing location in the heart of the Cultural centre, fantastic people, warm and social hosts as well as special guests. The best thing about this hotel is that is a very old building and the location is excellent. Close to everything and there is a lot of things going on between the day and night. It is a very old building, so don't expect the best comfort and luxury. I was late for breakfast so, i can't tell about that.

Right in the center, but not too noisy. Ladies at reception were very friendly. Room was a bit basic (absolutely ok given the great price), but spotless. Would stay again.
