From start to finish, this place is amazing. The welcoming and friendliness of the staff needs a special mention. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and they went out of their way to make it special for us in any way possible. The property was also really clean and exceptionally well equiped.

The breakfast was excellent. Everything was fresh and the selection was stellar. The staff were attentive and the cooked entree was very good. It was tempting to eat more than one should. Also the cats made the property so much more comfortable. I could see they were treated well.

Location was excellent, close to everything. We were able to walk to the restaurant at night, perfectly safe. The staff at breakfast were very accommodating. Food was laid out beautifully. The staff made your coffee fresh for you every morning, whether cappuccino or espresso. And they asked if they could prepare you a hot breakfast, eggs, etc. The rooms were very clean and paid attention to little details that make a difference…good quality soaps and shampoo, bathrobe and slippers. They arranged for a driving for us before and after our stay. And had good recommendations regarding vineyards and restaurants. The owner was onsite during our visit and was very friendly and took time to chat with us.

Nestled amongst vineyards at the foot of Helderberg Mountain, near Stellenbosch, the Eikendal Lodge features lush gardens and a pool. Fabulous accommodation, immaculately clean, beautifully maintained gardens, friendly staff and delicious breakfasts. I can’t recommend strongly enough for a base to explore the wine farms, Stellenbosch and wider area.
