Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 50 km from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes. Casa de Proteas is a lovely place to stay. Theresa was such a brilliant hostess, she made it feel like home.Breakfast was just right to set you up for the day. The food in the evenings was beautifully prepared. I would definitely recommend Casa de Proteas for a beautiful and relaxing holiday destination.

Recently awarded as Europe's Leading Design Hotel, the luxurious Vine Hotel is located in Funchal and offers a fusion restaurant with stunning views, a Wine Therapy Spa, and a rooftop infinity pool. With 400 meters of private sea front, the 5-star property offers spacious rooms all with balcony and views of the Atlantic and the Deserted Islands. We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Albatroz Beach & Yacht Club. The location is simply unbeatable — perched on the edge of the ocean with breathtaking views and easy access to both nature and nearby attractions. What truly made the stay exceptional was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, professional, and genuinely committed to making our stay as pleasant as possible. Their hospitality exceeded all expectations. The tennis court, set against the backdrop of the sea, is very nice. The pool area down by the ocean is spectacular. It’s peaceful, beautifully designed, and feels like your own private retreat. Very good restaurant as well. We were lucky enough to extend our stay by two extra nights, and so grateful we did. It gave us more time to soak in the peaceful atmosphere and enjoy everything the hotel has to offer. We will definitely be back. This place is a true gem.

Location is close enough to walk to restaurants & the centre but far enough to be away from it all. Breakfast out on the veranda was plentiful, tasty, with a beautiful view. The staff, especially Nuno were 1st class.

Set within tropical gardens on Madeira Island, this charming guesthouse features far-reaching sea views and 2 outdoor seawater pools and access to the sea. Great atmosphere compared to larger, more modern hotels. We hiked a lot, but could easily have had a great vacation, staying only at this hotel. The restaurant was really great too
