We didn't pay too much attention when booking this accommodation, as we just wanted a place to rest for a night after the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and before driving to Wellington. What a lovely surprise this place was! I absolutely loved staying here - spacious and clean rooms, a comfortable bed and a covered terrace in front of the apartment. Even though we didn't get to use the kitchen, it was supplied with pretty much all apliences one would need. Some details I appreciated and haven't seen before were the parking spots next to every apartment and the Netflix account the apartment had for guests. The gardens were pretty and well kept. However, I have to admit that what helped tremendously with my experience at the Creel Lodge hotel was the beautiful and incredibly friendly cat that decided to make us his friends and waited for us to wake up the next morning in front of our door.

The motel features stunning lake views from all apartments. Some rooms have a private balcony and a spa bath. A flat-screen TV, refrigerator, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities are also provided. The property is in an excellent location, offering a pleasant view and close proximity to restaurants and cafés. The apartment itself was spacious, had two floors, two large beds, and ample living space. The rate is very reasonable considering the quality of the accommodation.

Beautifully situated on Lake Taupo, definitely with paying for a room with full Lake views. We had a Spa room with a Jacuzzi.

Just 2 minutes’ walk from Lake Taupo, Acapulco Motor Inn offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen satellite TV and a DVD player. It features a hot tub and a barbecue area with outdoor seating. Free parking is available on site. Breakfast was good but they cleared the buffet away to early.

Each room at The Cottage Mews Motel includes heating and tea/coffee making supplies. Each has a private bathroom with a toilet and a shower.10 units offer a spa bath. Great stay at the cottage! Well located, right next to the beach and perfect for a morning swim. The cottage was very cute, can highly recommend!

Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort is just 800 metres from Lake Taupo crater lake. It has a natural thermal spa and is only 5 minutes' drive from the Taupo town centre. Free Wi-Fi is available.

VERY comfortable hotel in a truly perfect location. Beautiful view overlooking the lake. Close to town for selection of restaurants and shops. Outstanding breakfast. (Try the French toast!!). Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, well-appointed - amazing water pressure. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was very well located in Taupo, and we had a great view from our room. The staff at the reception was very nice and helpful, and they did a very nice gesture for us when we told them we were there as part of our honeymoon. The breakfast was great with a lot of options, and the food was very good at diner as well.
