Quiet when we visited (early December), although I expect it can get very busy during peak hours.

Everything :) the staff was super nice, especially Clara made us feel welcome immediately. It’s close the the most important things in the city in our opinion which is the beach and Quinta Avenida which is where a lot of shops and restaurants are located.

This secluded guest house is located outside the village of Tulum, only a short cab ride of the beach. The property is surrounded by tropical gardens.

Casa Don Diego features air-conditioning and private bathrooms in every guest room. All rooms feature a balcony or terrace. The room was decorated to perfection with lots of charm and character, and plenty of space to spread out. My son loved swinging on the hammock in the middle of the room. The pool was just a few steps from our room and a beautiful little oasis surrounded by flowering trees. Breakfast was delicious and included local honey.

Guests can explore the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, Tulum and Coba. The Lunata Hotel is within a short walk of the boutiques, shops and nightlife of the trendy Fifth Avenue. This was my 4th visit to Hotel Lunata in Playa del Carmen since 2002. On the surface, very little has changed over the years. In this case, that is a very good thing! Of course there has been some modernization in that time, such as very good WiFi for each room, however the warm and inviting room design, the friendly staff and the overall impression the hotel leaves have all not changed. We again had a very pleasant visit and were sad to leave. The breakfast is very basic with some cereals, tea, coffee and toast. It’s enough to get you going into the day, but it’s not a feast and is not the main focus of this boutique hotel. It is self-service in the Lunata natural garden, just like it was in 2002. We brought some fruits from the market and the staff offered to peel and cut the fruit for us. Fantastic service.

The tropical-style suites at this beachfront hotel feature a balcony with sea views, a fan and private bathrooms with a shower, toilet and free toiletries. The hotel is gorgeous and a peaceful gem amongst the really busy Tulum. Great rooms with sea view and nice beach access incl lounge chairs and sun beds. We had a very relaxing and recharging week here. The staff is exceptionally friendly, personable and accommodating. They were incredible with recommendations for excursions and provided lots of help to prepare my proposal to my now fiancée. An unforgettable week at Sueños.
