It provides a 24-hour front desk for the convenience of the guests. My 8 day stay at Villa Velmarie was amazing and truly special! As woman traveling on my own, I felt very safe all the time. If you want to have a authentic Avuyeda experience and get to know Sri Lankan hospitality, this is definitely the place to go! The team of Villa Velmarie is just amazing, very friendly, helpful and always smiling. There are not many words needed to understand that the whole team cares with so much passion about all guests. There are only six room, so that you feel like becoming a member of Velmarie family. During my stay they were only three other guests, so that the atmosphere was just perfect and so nice! All treatments by my therapist Chaturani were excellent! The flower bath and the Shirodhare were my favorite treatments. The massages and oil treaments are wonderful as well. The cook prepares fresh and very delicious Sri Lankan foods, which she serves with a big smile. The manager tries to fulfill all wishes and helps to organise taxi rides and trips. The garden and pool area is very clear and beautiful, thanks to the great gardener who works all day. The cleaning lady provides fresh towels whenever you want and keeps everything nice and clean! The yoga lession is a perfect start of your day. Highly recommend to go there!

From the very first moment, our stay at Nisala Arana was a total success – and became the absolute highlight of our Sri Lanka journey. This hotel was far more than just a place to stay; it felt like a true home full of soul, nestled within a lush, peaceful garden paradise. The expansive garden is a tranquil oasis right in the heart of vibrant, rural Bentota. We loved exploring the quiet backstreets by bike (freely available), observing local life and reaching the serene, uncrowded beach in just minutes – perfect for swimming and surfing. A fantastic Ayurveda centre was also nearby. The accommodation is stylish, immaculately kept, and yet wonderfully welcoming – it immediately gave us a sense of belonging. Special thanks go to General Manager Conrad, who hosted us with incredible warmth, attentiveness, and insight. He was not only a perfect host, but also a cultural guide and a true friend – making everything possible, from a fresh seafood BBQ to tracking down a lost phone. Even the owner went above and beyond – including sourcing a guitar for us! We actually stayed at Nisala Arana twice – once at the beginning of our trip, and again at the end. That’s how much we loved it. The second time we brought friends and enjoyed an almost private guesthouse experience, complete with a talented chef who prepared amazing curries and menus tailored to our tastes. In short: a place with true heart, deep respect for its guests, and a very personal level of service. Perfect for families, couples, and anyone seeking a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere – not about Instagram hype, but about real soul.

Nice place for shorter stay. Great swimming pool and area around. We liked this place. Nice people who work there, very helpful. Good breakfast.

Other dining options include fresh seafood at the open-air S.H.A.C.K., fine dining at Sea View and cocktails at the hotel's 2 bars. Gorgeous place and wonderful staff. All of the staff that we met were so friendly, warm and welcoming, whilst all working exceptionally hard. The hotel was immaculate and the service was great. A special shout-out to the head chef (sorry we didn't get your name) who cooked us a special birthday meal on the beach and Rujowan (apologies if I've spelt that wrong) the waiting on staff. Also Harsha our housekeeper made such an effort to make the trip extra special for our honeymoon and my birthday! Thank you!!!! I hope that we can visit again in the future!!
