It's a stunning location and the staff were so kind and helpful. The room was large, the bed was comfortable, the shower had good pressure, the breakfast was delicious, and we were given lots of information about where to go and what to see. Matera is one of those places you will never forget visiting, and staying at this hotel made it even more special!

This hotel is much nicer than the photos the receptionist where very friendly and help us to go around matera and he tell us how to reach matera by walk just 5 mins from the hotel to reach Matera secure parking....good breakfast nice room very clean and we had a good night sleep

The In Pietra is set in a converted monastery from the 13th century. Today it offers a large hall, a reading room and a wine cellar. This hotel is wonderful. The staff are really lovely (they also gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant which uses only local produce, ask them, it was fab!) and the location is perfect; an easy walk to everything. It's so cute inside as well, just like the photos they published on here. Breakfast was great as well, and when we needed to leave before breakfast on the final morning, they packed one up for us the night before. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. It was perfect.
