Ridola Hotel was designed in 1872 by Leonardo Ridola, a famous local architect. It still has original vaults and pavements, and its façade features a solar clock from the 1900s. This hotel is much nicer than the photos the receptionist where very friendly and help us to go around matera and he tell us how to reach matera by walk just 5 mins from the hotel to reach Matera secure parking....good breakfast nice room very clean and we had a good night sleep

The In Pietra is set in a converted monastery from the 13th century. Today it offers a large hall, a reading room and a wine cellar. The room was amazing (balcony with great view and huge jacuzzi), and the staff was very helpful and welcoming. Nice touches (jazz music speakers, variety at breakfast).

Breakfast was excellent, cold cuts fresh pastries great coffee great clean designer setting, location was perfect with a number of amazing restaurants at your door or 2 mins away, The room & the building/cave was like a designer had fitted it out, it was impressive felt very luxurious modern well appointed fittings, it was the best stay staff couldn't do more & location was in the best possible position.. highly recommend this property.
