The hotel itself is perfect, the room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. There was tea and coffee in the room with a kettle. Also complimentary water. The staff was very friendly and kind. The location was good I guess, I mean Yogyakarta was not what I expected but it is not a reflection on the hotel at all. You need a grab/gojek or a taxi to go to Malioboro area, or anywhere around the same distance. However there are some restaurant options within 10 min walking distance of the hotel. Also, the hotel breakfast and restaurant is also amazing with a variety of choices. Highly recommended.

I made the right decision staying at this historic hotel (the first international 5-star hotel in Jakarta - Indonesia I think). There are a lot of historic photos hanging around the bar area. The room is spacious enough and the bed is quite comfy. I got a free upgrade to a larger room with a bathtub and the view. The staff were all very friendly and attentive to my needs. I would say the service here is so personable (all staff were friendly and helped me with every small little things) which made me feel at home immediately. The hotel is connected with Grand Indonesia (a big shopping mall) at the ground floor so you can just walk from your hotel room to the shopping mall, very convenient. I also tried the sauna and swimming pool here, all very great facilities. Thanks so much and I will definitely be back if I have the opportunity.

The room was well-equipped with a kettle, fridge, and safety deposit box, making the stay even more comfortable. The pool and the garden are just wonderful! Real oasis for travellers. We enjoyed the 2 outdoor pools and the new pool and jacuzzi that is in the new building with a great gym on the 4th floor (mostly indoors, but has an open wall on one side, so you get a breeze, unobstructed view, etc. We traveled with the kids (ages 7 and 9) and my parents and had a great time. Oh, and the food was delicious!!!
