Built in 1909 by a Viennese entrepreneur Anton Urm, this hotel has hosted numerous aristocratic guests, including the Austrian-Hungarian emperor Franz Joseph. It was rebuilt almost 80 years later, with attention to its original design and preserving a romantic atmosphere. The views are amazing and the food is just superb - breakfast is unbelievable! Completely renovated in 2020 and housed in an Austro-Hungarian villa dating back to 1886, this 5-star hotel is situated amid a well-groomed St. Jacob Park in the centre of Opatija. Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the property and the Slatina Beach is just 100 metres away. We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The hotel itself was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, but what truly made the experience exceptional was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure we felt cared for. From the friendly reception to the attentive service throughout our stay, they made us feel like valued guests from start to finish. We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough and will definitely be returning!

Modern-style bathrooms include a hairdryer and free toiletries. Glamorous hotel 50 meters away from the statue of Girl with a seagull. Staff was amazing, polite, but not pushy at any moment. Room modern and clean, view to die for.

Featuring a wellness & spa centre, the newly renovated Hotel Bellevue - Liburnia is housed in a beautiful Empire-style building, as one of the oldest hotel it is considered a local landmark. Ideally set along the main street facing the sea, it offers free Wi-Fi and an à-la-carte restaurant. Great location, staff helpful and friendly. Room was large & loved the towel warmer in the bathroom. Large selections for breakfast. Our room balcony was a lovely relaxing spot to enjoy the view.

Hotel Astoria in Opatija was built in 1904 in the elegant Austro-Hungarian style, and after renovation in 2024, combining modern design and traditional spirit, it is offering beautifully equipped air conditioned rooms in natural tones with free internet access. Receptionist Dorotea was very friendly and helpful, the other receptionist whose name I don’t know was as well!The view from my room (apartment) was breathtaking, I could see the sea from the bed!
