It's a place with real Spanish character. We had a pleasant room and a comfortable bed. There was a first-floor terrace looking out over the coast and city for guests to use. There's a good breakfast, with gluten-free items provided by prior arrangement. The dining room had a superb view over the sea from high above and was available for guests to use for relaxation and hot drinks all day, and to consume our own food there, with the option of buying reasonably priced drinks in the evenings. (We felt the whole stay was great value for money.) There's also a garden, with a swing and seesaw for children. It's within walking distance of a rather quaint but superbly-sited amusement park, 2.5 euro entry fee, based around an old fortress and with stunning views (especially from the terrace bar at the top) along the coast to the west and over the city and mountains behind it. The bus into and from San Sebastian stops right outside the front of the hotel, and runs frequently, even on Sundays. It's an enjoyable trip, going right to the edge of the Old Town, scenic, efficient, and reasonably priced. All of the staff did their utmost to ensure we enjoyed our stay - it's the most welcome I've ever felt in a hotel - and we very much hope to return there.
