The Hotel la Boheme is located in the heart of Cáceres at the gates of the monumental Unesco Heritage city. It is in the foothills of the Llanos de Cáceres and Sierra de Fuentes National Park and includes air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Its location is perfect. The hosts are incredibly nice and made us feel at home. They work very hard balancing their small coffee shop in the hotel’s lobby, their boutique hotel (and raising their young family). Getting to know them was great. Their breakfast rooms are incredibly clean.

The soundproofed rooms in the property are large, bright and elegant. They a flat-screen satellite TV, minibar, coffee machine, laptop safe and ironing facilities. The bathroom comes with a bath, shower and professional hairdryer. The facilities are excellent, the room was quiet (with a nice view of the Guadiana river) and the location was also very good (close to the bridge that leads to the old town). But the highlight was the amicability and professionalism of its staff, particularly DAVID at the reception who went out of his way to give us a nicer room and much earlier than the standard check-in time. This is the attitude that differentiates certain hotel staff from others, and DAVID's attitude in pleasing the customer is rated at the top of his profession. I congratulate NH Extremadura for the quality of its staff, as represented by DAVID.

El Jardín del Convento, Casa Rural is situated in a beautiful square in the historic quarter of Hervás, Extremadura. The 19th-century building features free Wi-Fi and stylish interiors with antique furniture. The house and garden are beautiful as is the town! The views from the lovely first floor terrace over the garden and out to the hills were magical. This is a family home now converted to rooms with bathrooms and is a family-run business. There is obvious attention to small details - and we enjoyed meeting Amos, who grew up in the house and gave us a tour of the house and garden, and manages it with his parents, as well as his father and Pascal who works there. A really special place! We were sorry we could not stay more than one night. And the Via Verde above the town is stunning to bike and walk.
