It has been a long time (40 yrs) since my last visit to Las Terrenas so i was a bit apprehensive when i heard that the coast had a lot of tourist development. Happily, the transformation from a desolate, nearly impossible to reach beach has been turned into fully accessible area of boutique hotels (not cheap high rises) that are still very reasonably priced. The best lodging on the entire couple mile beach strip is the Atlantis. It is a serene, beautiful property, with spectacular views and access to the most beautiful beach on the island. The rooms are very clean and staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. Also, the restaurant is the best in the area. Ten out of ten.

Clean, comfortable, greatly equipped apartments, beautiful balconies, big beds, everything really great. No mosquitoes as they take care of it, great garden by the pool, super yoga class you should try! Beach in November was a bit moody from the sand inside but we think its only matter of time in the year. Beach is across, 3 sec away. We had a car so no issue going to the “center” for dinner, you can also walk like 10-15min
