Beautiful and comfortable ryokan, friendly staff. Very near to Nishiki Market. Onsen was great to soothe away all aches and pains from exploring and shopping. Breakfast was amazing! Room was spacious. Love our stay there!

We wanted to experience a night in a Ryokan. This structure was amazing and welcomed us in a unique way. Welcome drink (very appreciated given the hot weather) and typical kaiseki dinner served in our room. Everything was perfect.

Very good location, close to many of the major tourist attractions. Very peaceful and quiet environment, in the forest and next to the temple. Have convenience store nearby, around 5 mins walk, facilities very good. Morning session in the temple is a very nice experience. Public bath is not big but clean and comfortable

In a house that is 100 years old, it is meticulously maintained. Even though the bathrooms had to be shared (as of most old houses in Japan), the 2 bath rooms are in absolutely good condition and very modern. My room (Satsuki) is the only one with its own toilet, but it was outside of the room, at the side of my own walkable garden. When I was staying there, the weather was cold but not freezing cold yet so I was still able to walk out into the garden to access the toilet. Something to note if you are visiting this Ryokan in the winter. As mentioned by many, the bath rooms are to be reserved and the house is old so it is not very soundproof. However, during my stay, the people who are staying there as well were very respectful and very quiet, so I did not experience any disturbance. I would like to specially mention that the staffs of this Ryokan are extremely hospitable and would really go out their way to help in any way possible. During my short stay, I had met many of the staffs and they were all consistently accommodating and helpful. It was really a pleasant stay!

We stayed in the Yuki room for one night and had dinner and breakfast. It was an absolutely incredible experience, a highlight of our holiday in Japan. The room was gorgeous, clean and comfortable. It had a private toilet and sink, but the showers are part of the three available onsen (which are private but shared amongst all guests). The dinner was fantastic, cooked by the owner from seasonal produce. After dinner we were told about some of the fascinating history of the ryokan and the art work displayed within. The whole experience was one I will never forget and hope to be able to return one day!

We had a wonderful experience at the Yuzuya Ryokan. The establishment has an authentic charm that takes us on a journey into Japanese culture. Everything is luxury, calm and voluptuousness. The Japanese-style rooms are pleasant and comfortable with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Common places are attractive and aesthetic, particularly the bath which allows you to try Japanese culture in yuzu-flavored water. Regarding gastronomy, we had a Japanese dinner and breakfast, we were not disappointed. The dishes are delicate, refined and elegantly presented. Despite our different culinary habits (notably savory breakfast is not in our culture), we were pleasantly surprised by this meal and it was an authentic experience. The staff is very helpful, smiling, attentive to our expectations to ensure that we have a pleasant stay at the yuzuya ryokan. I will definitely stay there again during a new trip to Kyoto.
