This is a friendly family-run hotel in a quiet street in Cannobio. The man who runs it couldnt speak much English but nonetheless he made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was good , our room was quiet at night and the location was excellent as it was only a few minutes walk to the main part of town and to the lake. They also serve lovely evening meals.

Nestled in the mountains, directly on the Piedmontese shores of Lake Maggiore, Albergo Del Lago offers panoramic views.

Amazing place!!! We must come back! We had 8 different accommodations during our holiday around Italy and France. This is one of two we really loved. The room was superb, well equipped and mainly it had an amazing view on the lake. As the street was behind the house, it was very calm there. Gardens that are relating to the house were exceptional. There are several levels of garden where we could go with our dog as well as garden part where we relax on deckchair under a parasol. This is a family managed business and they were all very helpful and pleasant. We felt the "home atmosphere". Our dog was also very well welcomed. We hope we get there back soon!

The hotel is centrally located on the lakeside promenade and has a splendid view of the magnificent surrounding alpine and lake scenery.

The room was big and very nice, huge bed, the restaurant served tasty food.

Featuring high frescoed ceilings, stained glass leaded windows, this magnificent Art Nouveau villa dates back to the 19th century.

All new and clean. The stuff very nice and helpful. Amazing breakfast where you can also choose to have something fresh from the kitchen. We received an upgrade when we arrived, instead of our double doom we received the deluxe room and it was very nice. They also have sauna and jacuzzi for an extra fee. And the view and location just perfect in front of the lake.

Our second time staying at the hotel Ancora. There is a wonderful art deco inspired elegance to the hotel, exemplified by the staff who complement the aesthetic with their manner and professionalism. It could be a model for the best boutique hotels to follow. The breakfast is superb by any standard, world class quality and a wonderful selection of food. The location is on the road next to Lake Maggiore (which is very convenient) and the staff will guide you with regard to parking options

A lovely hotel. All staff were very friendly and helpful. There were wonderful views from our balcony overlooking Lago di Maggiore and the high mountains beyond. The food in the restaurant was first class as it was in the the Bistrot Imbarcado, which the hotel also runs, and where the seating is alongside the lake. A good ferry service from Porto Valtravaglia makes it easy to visit Stresa, the Borromeo Islands and market day in Luino. We will certainly be back!

The staff were incredible-I had read some previous reviews about the staff but could not believe how outstanding they all were. One person in particular who sticks in my memory is Alexander who works at the bar-he is a real asset to your hotel. The breakfast was also sublime
