Ricardo and Tatiana were the most fantastic hosts, making us feel so welcome in their lovely home. We had problems with the car, we were upset and we arrived late at the hotel. They waited for us, calmed us down, we sat together and had a nice evening. Great location with super nice view. Very spacious and neat bedroom and bathroom. Very friendly house manager Santina prepared delicious breakfast. The little palace is on a beautiful seafront in a cosy provincial town and the nights were quiet and peaceful. We couldn't recommend this place enough, the perfect base for exploring central Sicily. We thank the hosts for their hospitality.

We only booked this great Hotel on the day as had a change to our travel itinerary with hire car. The staff allowed early check-in having our room ready by just after midday. I read the reviews about the restaurant so was hesitant to eat there that night after walking around Catania. The previous restaurant reviews are far from the truth the restaurant in the hotel is excellent, especially the staff, the quality of flavours of food and selection variety was as good as any town in Sicily. They even had a local draft beer very refreshing after a long drive. The room was on the ground floor but well appointed and insulated plus a large double comfy bed and good shower wash room and facilities. We hadn’t booked Ocean views but for a basic room we got great Ocean views and the late checkout time allowed us to walk around the Catania in the morning before driving out to the airport. Couldn’t fault the place and would recommend a short stay here. Reception staff excellent and so helpful and friendly always there with a warm smile. Thank you to all your team. Will recommend this place to our friends in Australia.

I liked the homey and comfortable the staff members made you feel. It was perfect getaway in the outskirts of Catania. Was extremely clean and the breakfast service was tasty and offered various of breakfast options. Beautifully designed house.

My stay at Monaci delle Terre Nere was truly exceptional. This is a paradise on the slopes of Etna amidst the lush Sicilian countryside, the property exuded tranquillity and charm. I can't say enough about attentive service, gourmet meals sourced from their own organic garden, exceptional collection of art, fantastic wine tasting and cooking class.... and the sleep. i travel around the world a lot - this is one of THE best places to sleep and simply enjoy time at the hotel. and time here is sweet and slow, just like local honey.

This hotel was such a great find for our honeymoon. The staff are incredibly helpful & nothing was too much trouble. The room was absolutely fabulous, the bed more than comfortable & it was so quiet, we slept really well. Views from the roof terrace of the sea on one side and Mount Etna on the other. We had a hire car and parking was no problem & very safe in a doubly locked car park at night. Breakfast was fresh & plenty of different choices, hot, cold, whatever you wanted. The place was spotless. I really couldn’t fault it. Top marks! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
