Lovely quirky rooms, spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was amazing - delicious buffet and menu choices with a stunning view. The trails around the property were stunning, as were the gardens and pools. Staff were lovely - super friendly and helpful.

We went to this hotel after arriving in San Jose on our first evening. It was perfect for what we needed, aka some rest after the long journey. The room was clean and quiet, and breakfast the next day was fresh and had quite some choices.

We knew Poas Volcano Lodge would be a nice place, but it turned out to be much nicer than we expected. The entrance as you drive through the dairy farm is lovely, and the hotel's grounds are much bigger than I thought. We stayed in the main building and found the style and the architecture very nice, incredibly spacious, very well kept. There are multiple lounge areas - the photos don't do them justice. The rooms are large, the bed really comfortable, and the view over the volcano is beautiful. We had dinner on site which was ok - like a nice homely meal - and then enjoyed a few glasses of wine by the fire on one of their many couches. Overall, we were quite surprised and delighted by how lovely our stay was. If you're looking for a place that's cute, cozy, but of a high standard then this is it.
