The Pamirs region offer some of the best high-altitude treks in the world, with beautiful sky-high scenery and the option of a breathtaking drive along the Pamir Highway. Equally wonderful excursions can be found along the border at the ruins of ancient Penjikent and the surrounding Fann Mountains. Tracing the Pyan River south from Khorog, the Wakhan Corridor is sprinkled with picturesque villages, ancient shrines and crumbling castle ruins. The corridor runs right up to the border so it’s possible to cross into Afghanistan and explore the Wakhan from the other side. Hotel Atlas is really nice - from the free airport pick-up to fast and easy check-in and room being ready early it was a great start! Relatively quiet area slightly east of the very centre so we used taxis a bit - the front desk will always call one and explain to the driver where to go - and will also set you up with the best local ride-sharing app.
Very good selection at the included breakfast buffet.

Owner of this place is an exceptional man. Yusuf waited us until 4 am, because it took us around 18 hours to get from Dushanbe to Horog. Unit was nice suited and very clean. Breakfast was delicious and rich. It had terrace with wonderful look on snowy mountains. We had wonderful time during our stay. We recommend you this place.
