This is truly a beautiful place to stay, and I couldn't recommend it more. The lodges are brand-new, spacious, and very well-equipped, and the views are amazing. The staff are all so friendly and they really go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. It's a great place to relax but they also offer a ton of activities in the area. Wish we had stayed longer!

I cannot even express the gratitude I have for people and this place! They went above and beyond, do not hesitate to stay here, dont bother looking anywhere else, this is the place to stay, the rooms are immaculate, they washed our clothes, prepared our food which tasted phenomenal, I dream about the tilapia! They went all out for my husbands birthday, arranged for halal meat! Wow! Couldn't believe it! Best hotel ive ever stayed in, truly and I have travelled the world, they even organised our tour for the national park, exceptional! Will definitely be back and recommend to everyone! Ruhondo island retreat was fantastic - both in terms of natural beauty and as a gateway to many local community experiences around lake Ruhondo. Jean was amazing and led us on a hike and community visit - he shared awesome info about the area where he was born. The tents were awesome - with great hot water showers. The food was also excellent, the chef Elias did a great job! I would recommend visiting lake Ruhondo , and the retreat, as an alternative to lake Kivu.
