Known for its wine-making and charming capital, Moldova sits north of the Balkans between Romania and Ukraine. What it lacks in architectural prowess, it makes up for with plenty of green spaces and peaceful spots. The capital Chişinău is by far the country’s biggest draw, offering cultural landmarks like the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography, the Museum of Natural History, and the National Museum of Fine Arts. You’ll also fine many bars across the city which serve famous Moldovan wines. Outside of the capital, you can hike and bike through the scenic hills of the rolling countryside. There are also several caves to explore, as well as a number of vineyards, monasteries and nature reserves. The majority of accommodation is found in Chişinău, with a wide selection of apartments and hotels. Hostels and guests houses are far less common but you’ll still find a few scattered around town.

Very welcoming and attentive staff, especially at the reception. This hotel is one level above all the rest.

Chateau Purcari hotel is located in a picturesque countryside, 108 km from Chisinau. Every room at Chateau Purcari Hotel is decorated in a chalet-style and includes a minibar.
Guest review
We came to this place with our family to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We also got acquainted with the wine production at Purcari and tasted the wines, learning a lot about them.
We discovered how to recognize the taste, depth, and aroma of wine. We really enjoyed it.
It’s a special place to spend quality time and celebrate an occasion.
The food and service are of a high standard.
We thank our evening tour guide and the very kind and cheerful young man who served us at the restaurant — he was wonderful.🫶🏼🙂

Featuring a terrace and a massage service, this hotel is 5 minutes’ drive from Tiraspol Train Station. It offers a restaurant and air-conditioned rooms with a flat-screen TV.
Guest review
The hotel is ideally situated in the middle of Tiraspol, with many of the rooms having a fantastic view of the City Hall (the former House of Soviets) - which is one of, if not, Tiraspol's most iconic and characteristic buildings.
The staff are friendly and speak English, for those visiting with no or little experience in Russian. They will check you in quickly and efficiently, making sure you have everything you need for your stay.
There is an Agroprombank branch situated along the hotel's ground level, where you can easily convert currency into Pridenestrovian rubles to pay for your room. I wasn't asked to present my passport when converting into rubles, but expect to need to show your passport (and potentially your migration card) when checking into Hotel Russia at reception.
I particularly liked our room (twin room) which was spacious yet cozy, with the addition of an aforementioned balcony being a real bonus - although you might not be as lucky if you don't explicitly pay the extra fee to guarantee yourself the same view.
The hotel is a short walk from the main restaurants and shops on 25 October Street, Surorov Square, the Green Market and so on. There is also an Agroprombank, Eximbank and Sheriff supermarket within five minutes walk for currency conversion and shopping.
After a busy day of travelling and touring the sights in Tiraspol and Bender, this hotel was a perfect place to relax, unwind, and catch some rest in a fascinating place to visit!
