The accommodation was very comfortable and clean, in a quiet street with lovely views out across the surroundings at the back. Hendrina welcomed us and was very hospitable and accommodating. The self-catering unit had everything we needed for a comfortable overnight experience, including electric blankets on the bed, hot water and great water pressure in the shower, coffee, tea and fresh milk. We could park our vehicle right outside the unit and although we did not use the braai facilities, there is an amazing braai area and verandah with a table and seating. Highly recommended for anyone staying over in Calvinia.

The villa with a patio and pool views has 5 bedrooms, a living room, a flat-screen TV, an equipped kitchen with an oven and a toaster, and 2 bathrooms with a walk-in shower. Towels and bed linen are available in the villa. There is also a seating area and a fireplace. The host was incredibly warm and helpful without ever being intrusive — the yard is big enough for group travellers. Everything was spotlessly clean, the beds were super comfortable, and the braai area under the stars is now one of my favourite memories. The sunset view from the villa is next level.
