A really nice place to rest and recuperate after a long ride on our bikes. Found a nice cafe nearby to get a great pizza. Philippa was very helpful and kind, and the breakfast was superb.

Perfect location right in the centre of Barcelos. 5 mins walk to the main square, shops, grocery store, cafes and restaurants. Great time to visit over Easter and the Festa da Cruzes. We enjoyed our stay and the accommodation at In Barreta was perfect in meeting our needs for space, location and amenities. Barcelos is a great central location allowing you to visit many of the beautiful cities and towns in the Braga region including Braga, Guimarães, Viana do Castelo, Ponte de Lima, Valenca, and beach towns like Esposende and Apuglia. You are also 1 hour away from the Spanish border to the north crossing from Valenca into Tui Spain. And 2 hours away from Santiago de Compostela where the renowned Camino de Santiago ends. In fact there are many pilgrims who cross through all of these town on their various routes along the Camino and we encountered several while sightseeing. If you decide to cross over to Spain, keep in mind that the time changes to one hour ahead when you cross the border! Also you are less than a hour drive from Porto and other smaller surrounding villages and towns including the national park of Geres. And you’re 2 hours away from the Douro valley wine region. Caesar and Olga are very fine hosts. We highly recommend this accommodation and we will definitely stay here upon our return to Barcelos.

Casa de Campo was a little piece of paradise just far enough away from the hustle and bustle. The garden, views and pool area were just beautiful. An oasis of calm. The pool was consistently a lovely temperature. The vegetable garden and fruit trees were a wonderful addition. The privacy and security of the property was great, we instantly felt at ease, comfortable, a real home away from home. Anna, the host was wonderful, friendly and welcoming and quick at responding to messages. The location is a short drive to local shops, not too far from Braga and Barcelos. A little further to Porto but perfectly situated between a little of everything and the calm of nothing. The perfect balance. If you’re looking for an escape from a busy day or simply to relax from morning until night, this is the perfect home to come home to or never leave. The sun rises and sets across the main garden and pool area, offering all day sun and the patio area and hammock offer a welcome retreat from the heat of the day. Would highly recommend for families with children of various ages.
