Vihanga Village is a little piece of heaven, tucked away a short 2 KMs off Dambulla. The place is truly magical and you can certainly see all the love Rohan (the owner) and his wife have put in building it. It's a fantastic place to relax, take a break from the madness of the city, be in nature, listen to the birds, shower with the monkeys and giant squirrels or enjoy the delicious food prepared by Rohan's wife. Rohan was there to give me the best tips, arrange for a great tuktuk driver to take me where I wanted to go at a very reasonable price and make sure I was always happy. When he had to leave to work on his next film, I was left in the very capable hands of his son Vihanga who took over and organised everything for me. When I came back from my adventures, Vihanga was always up for a chat and I learnt so much about life in Sri Lanka. As a solo female traveller, I felt not only safe but also always looked after in a caring and non intrusive way. I absolutely loved my stay in Vihanga Village and you will too. Thank you very much to the entire family for making my stay in Dambulla so memorable!

Excellent hospitality provided by host and felt good and excellent staff and one of the best place to stay in Dambulla. Swimming pool was refreshing, and rooms were superb. Restaurants food was amazing, and breakfast was massive. I would definitely recommend this hotel for other travelers who are looking to stay in Dambulla.

We stayed at Gaia Lake Bungalows for one week and had an excellent time. You can rent the whole villa and enjoy a really unique private experience in this central region of Sri Lanka. The villa is located directly at the beautiful Kandalama Lake (with a stunning view on the lake) and is certainly one of the best locations you can choose for exploration of the cultural triangle between Polonaruwa, Anuradhapura, Kandy and Dambulla, including Sigiriya. Sarath, the private cook will introduce you to the various flavours of traditional Sri Lankan food and Darshi the manager kindly supports any kind of arrangements you may need. We booked the entire villa for only 3 persons but there is plenty of room for 6 persons or even more. Moreover a large swimming pool is available for exercise or relaxation after excursions. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We absolutely loved our stay! If you are looking for close contact with nature, this is the perfect place. Here you can truly experience an immersion in Sri Lankan culture. Waking up to the sound of birds makes every morning feel special. The rooms are spotless, very comfortable, and well taken care of. Colin and Pad are such warm hosts they make you feel at home from the very first moment, always checking in to be sure everything is going well. They also speak perfect English, which makes communication effortless. Breakfast is generous, varied, and truly delicious. The pool is very clean, refreshing, and a wonderful place to relax. Staying here is not just accommodation, it’s a unique experience.

Luxury experience. Small villa (3 appartments only). We were 4 guests together having 2 persons as house service! Very clean pool, quiet place, tasty breakfast (Sri Lanka food on demand). Absolutely reccomend if you're going to Sigiriya.

The place was a little paradise out in the jungle, there's lots of monkeys hanging around! The host was lovely and made us incredible traditional dinners and breakfasts Just note that it's about 15 mins tuktuk from Sigiriya and Dambulla, but the host organised tuktuks for our trips out, so it was totally fine
