Very spacious house with a luxury feeling. Everything was very clean and you had everything you needed for a relaxing stay. Very close to the beach. The owner was friendly and helpful. I would recommend a car or a bicycle to discover the area, but a taxi to the train station is also quick and cheap.

I chanced upon Kumihama and the Waterside Cottage Heron, as it wasn't in my destination initially and it's not in the usual list of sights to visit. It's a little town by the Bay of Kumihama - deserted (compared to other places I've been), quiet & simple. Yet, I must say that I enjoyed my time the most here! Etsuko-san made me feel so welcome and at ease during my stay here. The room and premise beside the water canal were so serene, peaceful and therapeutic. She cooked dinner and breakfast for me - with impeccable service and taste, and deep thoughtfulness; she handwrote the meal courses in English for me and kindly introduced each dish for me. I really look forward to each meal time and enjoyed the casual conversations! The next day, she recommended me to use the in-house bicycle (battery powered) to cycle round the Bay - it was such a breeze cycling and pleasure exploring the Bay and also stopping by the Jersey Farmhouse for a nice ice-cream! Oh, and her dog, Leo, was so friendly and he gave me a lick before I checkout. Thank you so much, Etsuko-san for making me feel so at home. I'm truly glad that I made it here and I hope to visit again.

It was good to have one futon coach bed as one of our family members can't sleep on futon mats on the ground. This was the main reason we booked the accommodation. We liked the view but the kids loved the TV. Think there was Netflix.

My family had an incredible stay at Taiza House! The location is just perfect – right by the sea with local beaches, which were so lovely and quiet, just a short stroll away. The view from both the living room and balcony is absolutely breathtaking. I couldn't get enough of it! We had a blast swimming every day during our stay. The nearby local bath was a wonderful bonus too. One of the highlights of our trip was the Taiza summer fireworks festival. It made our experience even more special and unforgettable. In terms of convenience, there's a local supermarket, a delightful ice lolly shop (yum!), and several charming local restaurants, all within easy walking distance, and reasonably easy access from a nearest train station by bus. Overall, I highly recommend Taiza House. It was a truly memorable experience!

A great change from staying in hotels. Really feel like you are living in a traditional Japanese village. The bath was absolutely amazing and saved our life as it was very cold weather when we came.

We had the pleasure of staying in a traditional Japanese holiday home in Miyazu, and it was an unforgettable experience.
