The peace and quiet, the history of how Antonio gave the building some TLC, and the ground itself that the building is on. We enjoyed watching the wildlife and the friendly Magpie who came and sat on my shoulder and shared a biscuit with me. We loved the owls flying over at night, such a pleasure to watch while sitting under a tree. We also liked Antonio who seems to get a bad rap, he was friendly, informative and although he sold us the most expensive items on his menu, along with the most expensive wine we enjoyed it all (and to be fair, you can always say no and choose something cheaper if you wish, but we asked for recommendations and he gave them) along with the story that went with it, we liked the map of the area and the details he explained to us. The food was delightful and we really loved the steak and the ragu - thanks Antonio, we will return on our next trip to the North!

Great location, little bar around the corner, very quiet neighbourhood and garage to park our bikes in. Host was lovely and met us at the property to give us a rundown of the property and handover the keys.

Casa Tonino is very comfortable to stay in with all the comforts of home. Antonio met us to let us in. He is a very friendly, pleasant person. The house has everything needed to be comfortable. Antonio provided a complimentary bottle of wine and pods for the coffee maker. It has 2 bedrooms so perfect for a family also. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Enjoyable walk to old town. We were here 7 nights and really enjoyed being so close to the river walk. We rented bikes at Bici Duero and road out to the Bosque de Valorio and went hiking on the trails. We do not have a car so it was great to get out in nature while here.

The place was spotless and in excellent repair; there is a view of the rustic village from the patio and from the garden. Fully stocked with all short-term kitchen needs. Nice linens, and the furniture was comfortable. Very spacious and airy.

Our hostess was very welcoming, helpful, and informative. We were given lots of useful recommendations on what to see and where to eat. The house was recently reconstructed, and the photos are a true representation of the high quality of the work done. Badilla, itself, is a fascinating step back in time. A quaint and quiet village. Remnants of times long past are still evident there and still functioning in some cases. The area is pristine as it is part of the National Park, and as a result, there are species of flora and fauna there that are not found elsewhere. We will happily return.
