Just perfect! Aleks and his family were very kind and sweet, and went beyond to give us a good stay. The house is even better than the pictures and very clean. What a treat to stay here. As the climb (on cobble stones) to the bazar was very steep we decided to take the car, which was very doable. Be aware that the apartment is just off the main road, a bit different that google maps.

Fantastic location with a nice view of the mountains, especially from outside. Very friendly hosts who brought us homemade local food without us asking and even spoke some english. Apartment was clean and roomy (at least for 2 people) with a relatively well equipped kitchen.

This is the place to stay in Gjirokastër! We had the best time at the Villa Martin. The apartment is beautiful, clean and well equipped. The best thing was the spacious deck with a wonderful view of the mountains and the old town. It is only a 5 min walk to the bazaar and old city centre but far enough away to enjoy peaceful and quiet evenings on the deck. It is definitely also worth checking out the restaurants away from the touristic old town just a few minutes from the villa (Xhanari for traditional albanian cuisine and delicious salads and Coku for amazing fine cuisine). There is also a private parking space close to the apartment which was really great because of the narrow and steep roads in the old city . Many thanks to the very friendly and helpful hosts!

Very comfortable and spacious accommodation. Superb host who was most gracious. Fantastic Albanian breakfast, that gave us a great start to the day. Great balcony with mountain view that was enjoyed whilst relaxing, also far enough away from the inner city.Easy walk to explore the sites especially the castle/fortress and the bazaar/old town. Girokaster ihas plenty to offer.
