Staying amongst the trees and the sounds of birds and monkeys at Trogon is truly special. We liked that we could have dinner at Trogon as we wouldnt want to drive at night. Dinner was good and very cozy. All staff was incredibly friendly!

Can`t thank you enough, arrived on the Friday,9th very tired and very heartsore, have lost my husband very unexpectedly exactly 5 months prior, to a heart attack, that came from nowhere. This was my first official outing on my own and the cottage was all I needed. Went to one of my best friends son`s wedding at Kay and Monty Vineyard on the Saturday , sadly she had died the year before my husband , so the cottage was such bliss and peace and nuturing for my sore soul. Thank you , will come back again.

A beautiful region, with excellent restaurants.

A beautiful region, with excellent restaurants. The Grootrivier and (Western Cape part of) the Bloukrans River passes are exceptional, as is Nature's Valley. The Birds of Eden is THE world leading bird conservancy -- the biggest anywhere with free flying birds in a magnificent forest with a beautiful kloof, waterfall ,,, The nearby Monkeyland and Jukani conservancies are also probably the best in Africa. Thyme & Again restaurant is also a favourite.

This is definitely not a family holiday spot!

This is definitely not a family holiday spot! It could, at best, be a backpackers lodge. The water in the bathrooms was brownish, and although there were assurances that it was healthy, we were sceptical. The rooms were tiny and barely furnished. The kitchen is communal and almost 100 meters away from the rooms - very inconvenient for those rainy days! What about the toilet and bathroom outside the rooms! We had surely booked the wrong place, and stayed only for one night out of four.

Its a wonderful place to stay, especially since it is 18kms...

Its a wonderful place to stay, especially since it is 18kms from Plettenberg Bay, so its more serene than Plett over the height of summer. There is a lot to do in the vicinity. We loved our visits to the elephant sanctuary (an absolute must-do), the wolf sanctuary, Birds of Eden, Tenikwa (wildlife rehabilitation), Jukani (wildlife sanctuary, especially for Big Cats) and Monkeyland. There's a super water park (Adventureland) about 19kms away, with fabulous waterslides. We made the mistake of not booking restaurants for dinner in advance. Over late December / early January most places were fully booked, which really limited our options and we spent a lot of time calling around, which we could have avoided. I would scout the restaurants and book well in advance next time.

Lovely, quirky hotel, very well placed for both Knysna and Tsitsikamma. Really kind and friendly staff. Lots of lovely touches including a wood burning stove in the bedroom and a bedtime story book. Verandas with lovely views across the valley.

There was parking available. Room very tidy and clean. Coffee and tea available. Only a room with a double bed. The tour through the nearby attractions were beautiful and enjoyable.
