We love the vibe of the room. Everything was so clean and the bed was comfy. Chilling in the balcony was nice too. Carol and Gert were great hosts. They gave lots of information and their communication was good. And they have the cutest dog in the world, we hardly keep ourself not to took him in the room at night :) The breakfast was exceptional. I had the Suncatcher breakfast and my wife had continental, their vegetarian touch to continental breakfast was a plus too

Thanks to Gill and his team for an amazing stay! We enjoyed the honeymoon suite with a nice view of the sea. The beach is a short 2 min walk away. Gill’s team also suggested a lovely Italian place for us to have dinner at - they helped us make a reservation too. Highly recommend!

The attention to the small details, like having candles and matches the lovey barth. To have bread and wine waiting for us! To a very well thought out kitchen to have everything you need. Struisbaai is a quiet fishing port. It has limited interest but great connection to nature, great walks, we saw the stingrays. It is noted as being Africas most southern point and has a great beach bar as well as some decent eateries

Easy access to Cape Agulhas with a 5 minute drive which enables visits to the lighthouse, the southernmost tip of Africa, the shipwreck and an enjoyable hiking trail. The beach at Struisbaai is amazing and reputed to be one of the longest in the Southern Hemisphere. Miles of pristine sand made for a very enjoyable walk and then returning to the very active harbour to sit and watch the fishing boats come and go, Grab a milkshake or beer at the Harbour Cafe and sit and watch the world go by!!! Very relaxing.

Struisbaai is a wonderful place to stay, it is small and has all the facilities one could need, restaurants, shopping, chemist etc. I loved the harbour, and being a photographer this is a wonderful place to stay. It also has beautiful beaches and lots of places to walk, I felt safe at all times.

The shops is very close to our destination, lots of places to eat, we had break fast at the Old cape restaurant on the Main road, The air is very clean and healthy to breath in, and its very easy to get around Struisbaai, up to Cape Agulhas points, via the main road.

Struisbai is one of my favorite places to visit every year.i love that it is not overcrowded and the kindness of the locals. My children are safe and I feel at ease for them to take walks on their own. Our favorite spot is the Harbour.

Struisbaai has the essence of providing a well for filled vacation. The serenity that surrounds the town meets the clear turquoise ocean with its soft white beach sand allows one to smile and appreciate the simplicity of beauty. To have a few wild stingrays swimming everyday very close to shore was a great sighting. Our time didnt allow us to sample a few restuarants but the ones we did try were amazing. This was our 1st time in Struisbaai and it was a beautiful experience, Yes our time was very short so i cant wait to experience a longer stay. But i'm pretty sure Struisbaai wont disappoint.

The whole stay was fantastic. Glaudine surprised us with the food in the fridge for a breakfast as well picknick items and a semi-packed picknick basket! She had a whole list of things to do in the area and we would have extended by a few days if we did not have pre-committments back in Cape Town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Struisbaai and will be back!

From the start to the end, it was a warm and relaxing experience. We were greeted on site by Marlene who made it feel like we are visiting old friends. The flat was small, clean and equipped with everything needed. The heater was a welcome surprise for the cold Struisbaai nights.

I had a flawless stay at Mermaid Guest House. The hotel is in a quiet and safe area. The room had all advertised amenities and the staff had excellent travel advice for the local area. WiFi was strong. I have no complaints and look forward to staying here again.
