Absolutely loved the place. The owner is lovely, as well as her staff. The bed was comfy. Everything was clean and well organized. We would've want to stay another night, but it was booked. I lived in Heldervue area for 11 years & moved to Durbanville area in April 2025 due to sale of property & to be nearer to family. Somerset West is a lovely area & really worth visiting with lots of wine farms & lovely restaurants nearby & Strand Beach & Gordon's Bay also about 10 mins drive away. The host Liesel was very friendly & accomodating & went out of her way to upgrade my room from a single room to double room due to date change. This made my stay even more amazing. Thanks Liesel. I really recommend the guest house with a very central location.

Very cute, has some nice shopping centres, nicely located between Cape Town and Stellenbosch, nothing is a far drive. There can be some traffic on week days though, but if you leave earlier in the morning it's fine. Quiet place, easy to drive around or get an uber. Lots of wine farms near by and some great restaurants (trip advisor and google both have good lists for these). Some great hikes that are nearby as well.

The city is well laid out and it's easy to find your way. There are some hidden gems which could be better popularised. All the amenities one would need are to be found in Somerset West and it is within easy reach of Cape Town. There are some excellent restaurants and vineyards within easy reach.

Loved the area, close to Strand Beach, but couldn't find local restaurants only the Somerset Mall. Maybe more info should be provided about where the local facilities are so one doesn't spend unnecessary time driving up and down hoping to find the local stores.

There is so much to do in and around Somerset West (scenic drives, fruit farms, wine farms, olive farms, historic sites, etc.), and the summer weather is fantastic. Great proximity to Cape Town, the airport, etc.

Sleepy little town.

Sleepy little town. Very beautiful nestled between mountains and the ocean. Lots of restaurants, stores and wine farms conveniently located. Absolutely able to walk around, but good Über coverage as well. The Main Road is the spine of the town, and is dotted with artisenal burger restaurants, Sushi and more local fare.
