David is meticulous with his directions and cares so much about your enjoyment, at the place which means so much to him. All round a very enjoyable stay and would stop again in a heartbeat.

Everything is just perfect. It was the second time we stayed at La Lechere, and it was beyond what we remembered from our last stay. The whole team who works there are absolutely fabulous and keep it mind every detail. The room was perfectly clean and refreshed daily at the perfect time, our breakfast was fantastic, both types of them while having it by the garden / pool area, or the take away type which is meticulously prepared in a lovely cooler box to take with us while we were early morning for a game drive around kruger Park. The location of La Lechere is about 6 minutes drive from kruger. The Garden is beautiful and makes you feel like you are in an oasis, far away from any disturbances. We also used their pool, perfect to chill, and the laundry service which was fast and super efficient. We will definitely go back with some more family to share with them such a Eden of tranquility.

Phalaborwa as a town was a deep disappointment.

Phalaborwa as a town was a deep disappointment. The roads are in a very bad state and the general condition of the streets, pavements and rubbish lying around is a disgrace for the municipality. There are no streetlights working and the overall deterioration of the town is the last thing one wants to show overseas visitors. The tar road leading to the Kruger gate is obviously in a good condition but that is all. The Pick and Pay and the Spur are closed due to a fire incident and there are not a lot of restaurants to go to dinner for.

I'm so glad we chose Abelana River Lodge in Phalaborwa for...

I'm so glad we chose Abelana River Lodge in Phalaborwa for our first safari adventure. I have heard and seen so many times a convoy of safari jeeps in search of the animals. Our trips were just for our family of 4 which enabled us to build a relationship with our guide and we were always the only jeep out and about so it felt very private and tailored for our own personal experience and did not have to share with other groups or wait in line behind other jeeps to admire the animals. The area of Phalaborwa, especially where the Lodge was located was stunning with hectares upon hectares of thick bush with tracks running through it for the game drives to take place. We were constantly amazed at the beauty of the area and how respected the animals were by the staff and the guides.

It would be helpful if some activities such as spa...

It would be helpful if some activities such as spa facilities, game drive and bike tours are taken off your website because travelling all the way to Limpopo only to look for an alternative at 6pm since we were misled was the biggest unjust. As if that wasn't enough, we are going back and forth trying to get the refund, yet no one is willing to help.

The Kruger National Park's gate is very close to the town.

The Kruger National Park's gate is very close to the town. A pleasant town with everything you need for a stay in the Kruger. Roads to Phalaborwa, from Pretoria are in a good condition. Accommodation in Phalaborwa is plentiful.

Plenty of bush lodges in tur surrouding area. It has many options and you can choose to stay at what suits your budget. Close to the Kruger Phalaborwa gate. Just make sure to have a bigger car such as 4x4 for the gravel roads.

The place was very accommodating,5 KM from Kruger National park ,the host was very friendly she provided us with everything we needed she even offered us to use her kitchen as rooms are just for sleeping and showering so we had a great time and hope to have stayed longer they just need to clean their pool.

The property was clean and ready to receive guests. Self check-in was effortless. We stayed on one of Phalaborwa’s hottest days so we felt like the A/C needed some assistance. The host didn’t waste any time with bringing a fan for us. The outside shower was a great way to cool down.

Communication with the owner was really nice. Location is very close to the Phalaborwa gate. Nice to have private parking. Felt very secure.
