This property is a boutique hotel with a lot of charming. From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. The receptionist (whose very friendly and helpful), offered us a glass of bubbly to cool down, we sat under the beautiful trees and talked about the property and its history. Then, they upgraded us to a a bigger room over the main building. The room dated to 1600s which I find super cool. The food was delicious, the property is very well maintain, the staff is very friendly, the pool is a good size for a property with 15 rooms only. The breakfast is served under the trees in the garden. This place is magic. The sherry on top was the details, every night they'll come the room and leave you water and sweets by the bed, then at check-out they gave us a little bag with goodies including a small bottle of their own wine (yes, they also make their own wine). I highly recommend this hotel.

CQ is a little paradise in Paarl. The owner and staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The premises and views are stunning and the room is well appointed. The location is great, walking distance to Laborie and close to the most popular wine farms. The breakfast was divine - fresh baked bread alongside a beautiful spread. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Our visit to Paarl, South Africa was truly special for me, my husband, and our dog Klippies. From the moment we arrived, the town felt calm, welcoming, and easy to settle into — the kind of place where you can breathe a little deeper and slow down. We loved the beautiful scenery, with the mountains and vineyards creating a peaceful backdrop to our days. Paarl is wonderfully central, which made getting around effortless, whether we were heading out for a walk, grabbing a coffee, or simply exploring the town at our own pace. It never felt rushed or overwhelming — just relaxed and comfortable. What stood out most was how well Paarl suits a getaway with your partner and a furry companion. There’s space to walk, quiet streets to explore, and an overall sense of warmth that made us feel at home. It was the perfect mix of convenience and tranquillity. Paarl gave us quality time together, a change of scenery, and a chance to recharge — memories we’ll always treasure and look forward to returning to again with Klippies by our side.

Paarl is a city housing so much South African historical culture and architecture. The importance of wine production is even present in the city with vineyards appearing between the beautiful, historical buildings. A visit to Paarl is A must when visiting the western cape.

It's an area that has the feel of a small city and surrounded by beautiful nature reserves, wine, fruit and livestock farms as well as many hiking and mountain bike trails. It has everything you need and it's wonderful to spend time in a place that is close to nature.

I grew up in Paarl but has retired to Lamberts bay down the west-coast so visiting Paarl is always a "home from home" outing. Always a pleasure coming back. This was a quick visit so we didnt have time to visit any of the "offerings" Paarl has and it has many but next time we will stay longer to visit some again.

Paarl is a great town with a lot to offer.

Paarl is a great town with a lot to offer. It has the sophistication of its large neighbour, Cape Town, but retains all the charm of a small town. There is a lot to do in and around Paarl - great restaurants (must try: Bean In Love and Hennies), interesting sights to see (the Taal Monument and Paarl Rock), and of course is in the heart of the winelands. It is not far from Cape Town for a day trip, but it is even more lovely to spend a weekend. Nothing puts a dampener on a day like an hour-long drive home! Paarl is picturesque and a generally well-kept municipality. I would like to spend more time here playing at being a tourist.

Exceptionally well appointed bedroom, quiet air-conditioning, outdoor seating , beautifully prepared breakfast, warm and genuine welcome from the owner Yolanda. To relax at the pool in the afternoon was delightful and peaceful and the honesty bar a welcome facility. Only five mins drive or Uber away from Paarl centre and close to all local places of interest. Highly recommended and very well managed. The staff were pleasant , helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable.

Well maintained property in most respects, and all the rooms have beautiful views of the lake and vineyards, but we believe that the most expensive rooms do not warrant the extra costs incurred. It is intentionally not equipped for self catering because of the pizzeria on the property, but having a glass of wine on the porch in the evening, cannot easily be done if you want cheese and biscuits as an accompaniment.

The views are exceptional. Even though you are still in Paarl and extremely close to all amenities, the location makes it feel like you are in a completely different world. Rooms are tastefully furnished, with great beds and full bathroom. Quiet and peaceful environment. Staff are friendly, and breakfast was filling and nicely made. Better than most hotels!
