Wow I liked the property, security guard from entrance was helpful , location was easy to find , Property was clean and in perfect condition, we wish we had stayed a few more day , I can see it’s under construction and I can’t wait to come back after everything is completed just to stay again because I see there is something nice cooking.. 🤩🤩🤩

Food was absolutely exceptional. The range of fresh fruits and salads at every meal was out of this world. Despite the searing summer heat they also hosted a brai to really make us feel at home in South Africa. An effort is made to change the location of your meals each day which is such a lovely touch. There are a lot of negative reviews about the wifi, but you are in the bush, so it might be worth taking a reality check if you think you’ll have top notch wifi. You’re there for nature after all. The guides were outstanding. We were incredibly lucky to have Peter as our tracker and Peter as our guide. They could not have been more hospitable in terms of sundowners and refreshments, but were also always focused on safety along with maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times. We also got to see some incredible things on safari too. All in all, this is an amazing place and would fully recommend for a less commercial safari than normal.

Everything! This place is a complete sanctuary, for animals and humans alike. From the warm welcome to the final goodbye, we enjoyed every minute. The whole place is beautifully decorated, the rooms comfy, and our private terrace overlooking the river was so peaceful. And the game drives, just wow! Adolph (guide) and Mosco (tracker) worked tirelessly to find us the Big Five, finding a beautiful female leopard and elephants for us on our last morning. I loved how they had to really work to find the animals in the thick bush, so that when we found them it felt like a real reward! And as for the food, you couldn’t go hungry if you tried! Every meal is delicious and there is SO much of it! Don’t search any further, just book. You wont regret it.

Truly amazing. We’ve never been so well looked after in our lives! From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. The staff are friendly and the location gives the most amazing views whilst having meals. The rooms were so comfortable and were super clean. The entire property was well maintained throughout. Johan and Adelina ran everything impeccably and organised a couple of trips for us; the bush walk being a highlight. Our game drives were simply wonderful with Evans and Thomas who were happy to pass on their knowledge of the bush. We saw all that we wanted to, and more, often being so close to the animals whilst always feeling safe with our guides. Special thanks to Shirley, Rizen, Josina, Rueben and chefs Helen and Jeanette for their care and kindness. Thank you to all the team. Thank you for looking after us so well whilst we were with you, you made us feel like family. We will be hurrying back.

Not our first time in the Karongwe reserve, but our first time at Chisomo. Fully tarred road from Hoedspruit to Karongwe and then only 15-20 minutes from the gate to the camp. This is an excellent tented camp, with lots of thought going into their tents. We even had electric blankets on the bed and hot water bottles on game drive (May). The tent was so comfortable, housekeeping is excellent. We could charge equipment in our rooms, wifi was excellent and streaming easy. Very impressive! The food was all buffet style but of great quality. No complaints. Staff were friendly and service was great. Game drives have never dissapointed here and this trip was no different. With the skills of Polly and Eddie over 4 drives we had 3 leopard sightings, lion on kill sighting, cheetah on kill, rhino and the very special cheetah on foot. We were so impressed, we booked again for next weekend.

The staff was extremely friendly and the food was wonderful, they grilled steak, meats & other delicious food on an open fire , home made brioche , bread complimented starter soups the three course meal finished with homemade desserts. (All inkl in the package ) . The chef was very innovative & interested in serving only the best quality food ! the game drives were sensational. The drivers were very professional and knowledgeable about the different animals. Only after 2 days we already seen the big five except the leopard . We were served an aperitif in the sunset providing sensational pictures after each game drive and were able to choose our preferred beverage upfront . The river lodge we stayed in , was very peaceful and the staff was accommodating , greeted us on return with hot towels and showed utmost interest in making this stay a really special one ! We would highly recommend this game reserve and the benchmark has been set at a very high standard .
