An amazing last minute booking - room including seating area & large TV opened onto a patio overlooking the vineyard. Very clean and spacious. Complementary bottle of wine, breakfast and opportunity to visit the wine cellar & wine tasting were lovely extras. We eat at the restaurant in the evening - lovely 18 century Manor House conversion overlooking the lake - the meal was outstanding. Best find of our South Africa road trip.

A hidden gem in the Winelands!! Super clean, spacious, and comfy. It felt like a private oasis. The views are truly unforgettable, absolutely breathtaking, with Table Mountain in the distance, wildlife roaming at the front of the property, and sunsets that are nothing short of magical. Enjoying a glass of Saxenburg wine while watching the sky change colours was one of the most memorable moments of our trip. Our stay felt effortless yet special. It’s rare to find a place that balances country charm with the little luxuries so perfectly. Close enough to Cape Town and Stellenbosch for exploring, yet tucked away in its own peaceful world, Saxenburg is without a doubt the best place we’ve stayed in the Winelands. Truly unforgettable - I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Everything was amazing! Beautiful hotel with amazing artwork. The room was very spacious, clean and luxurious, with a balcony and seating. Very comfortable bed with beautiful crisp linen. So many beautiful spaces in the hotel itself. Reading room, screening room, cigar lounge, all decorated beautifully. The service from all the staff in the hotel, in the restaurants, the spa and management was exceptional. Stunning surroundings with lots to do if you choose to. The food in the hotel as well as on the farm was incredible. The most beautiful spa in the hotel, had one of the best massages ever. A very relaxing and wonderful weekend. Will definitely return!

Its a lovely location on the edge of durbanville. With an amazing view of Cape town. The host was very kind and attetantive. The room was very modern and high and. the bed was also very comfy. The bathroom was also modern. It was a lovely stay!

Kuilsrivier is a hidden gem in Cape Town.

Kuilsrivier is a hidden gem in Cape Town. It is centrally located, with the winelands of Stellenbosch and Paarl a mere few minutes away. Similarly the beach, the Airport, Cape Town CBD and the V&A Waterfront are mere minutes away. The town has struck an amazing balance of being in a City, with all amenities and services available, without forfeiting or sacrificing the friendly, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere typically found in rural towns. The local community was without exception friendly and kind. What was noticebale was how well this town seem to be managed - the local authority certainly deserves recognition for the high standards noted here, in comparison to towns in other SA Provinces.

It’s close to the airport And the city And for generally getting about It’s a very personal experience They really care about you and your welfare It was like a home from Home experience It’s ridiculously good value for the money You just check in if you needed dinner They have taxi folk ready to assist you The owners and family are really fun to be around There was a brilliant live music evening fab musician and vocalist and great dancing And their friends be-friended me and took me places I’m not sure I would have experienced for myself Menu varied and brilliant value It’s a really fun eclectic place full of intrigue and character

The cottages were not my favorite, they need updating, and I would have liked to know I'm booking a room in a cottage and not an entire cottage upfront. We were lucky though, there were no other people booked at the same time as us. The venue and views are amazing. The restaurant and the spa is exceptional as well as the rest of the wine farm. Overall we had a great stay, next time I'll rather book in the actual hotel though.

It was nice to be able to stay in an apartment vs staying in a hotel. It was cold at night, but the owner was able to give us a heater to use. The apartment had everything we could need to cook, have nights in, etc. We were able to bring laundry down to the pool and have our clothes washed.
