We had a wonderful stay at Knysna Hollow Estate. The accommodation is spacious, modern, clean and the bed is very comfortable (A comfy bed is one of my must have’s). The staff were all super friendly and Cheryl, one of the manager’s, was efficient and could not have been more helpful.

Absolutely everything to like about this hotel. The location on Thesen Island the views, the friendly smiling staff and their willingness to assist in any way. Quite location but with everything on hand. Not just a mini bar but a well equipped kitchenette and a nice touch with a fresh lemon on the chopping board. Just perfect. Even the loo had a view!

The apartment was perfect --stylish, spacious, clean, and cozy. It was perfect for our family of 5 (we took a two-bedroom). The kitchen was large and well fitted, the living room was very nice, the balcony was massive with a seating area, and the bedrooms/bathrooms were comfy and clean. We loved that the floor was heated (such a nice touch). We also loved the area it was at, and the grounds were secure and well-manicured (which is expected in a golf resort). Driving in and out of the resort was really nice as it's on a mountain with superb views. The check-in was smooth. We arrived late and hungry, so the lovely front desk staff suggested we order room service from the restaurant. It was delivered quickly and was very delicious. Our apartment was not too far from the main club house for breakfast; as the weather was crisp and cool, it was perfect for a morning walk. The staff at the restaurant were delightful and accommodating...the breakfast buffet was the best we've had whilst in South Africa. Their hot chocolate was a hit with the kids. We weren't able to golf, sadly, as we were on a schedule, but it would be great to bring our clubs next time. The golf course looked fantastic! I used the laundry service, and our items were finished and delivered to our room the next day. They were not ironed, so make sure you specify that option if you need to. The laundry service was reasonably priced (they charge per kilo). What we liked about staying in Knysna is that it was quite central to areas we wanted to visit, like Tsitsikamma Natl Park, and Cango Caves. We enjoyed having dinner some evenings at the Knysna Waterfront (only a 10 min drive). I would definitely stay here again when in Knysna! 3 days was not enough!

We had a good stay here at Lakeside Lodge. Comfortable and everything we needed. The view was awesome. A fan would have been great, but overall it was nice. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We ended up staying an extra night.

A friendly place.

A friendly place. Waterfront area and a lagoon boat trip are a must-do. Plenty of places to visit in the area. Dry Dock restaurant highly recommended. Easy to get around the area although parking in central area a bit problematical. A visit to 'The Heads' viewpoints which is nearby. Drive the 7-passes road for scenery and driving experience. Visit the transport museum in nearby George (it's free!). Margaret's viewpoint on Brenton-on-sea road is nearby and not to be missed.

Everything was nearby, but you need to be there to experiences the wonder of Knysna. It is a must to go visit the Love Gifts store. The Portuguese restaurant food was delicious, but you have to try all the food places there as everything is divine.

I haven't visited Knysna in a long time and sadly I have to...

I haven't visited Knysna in a long time and sadly I have to say that, in the last few years the city has gone to the dogs, it is 3rd world at best. Restaurants, tourist areas and the natural beauty is still awesome, but the city center is dirty, run down and unsafe to walk around in, especially after dark.

Place is ideally situated on the lagoon. Close to shops and the waterfront. House was extremely clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with everything that you need including extra cutlery, plates etc. The owner was extremely helpful and able to accommodate us with our arrival and departure times. I would definitely stay here again when I visit Knysna in future.

The location is excellent, we could walk 5 mins to a selection of cafes, restaurants and tourist shops to look around. It is only a 5 minute drive to Knysna Heads for an awesome view! The apartment itself was equipped for self catering (which we didn’t use!) and the rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds. We only stayed one night but wished we had more time!

Sunbird was a very spacious apartment with beautiful views of the lagoon and Knysna Heads. Exceptionally clean and very comfortable with a big deck and bbq for enjoying the view. Henriette, the owner, and Joseph, the staff member, were both very friendly and helpful.
