This is a hidden gem and well worth the travel.

This is a hidden gem and well worth the travel. It is South Africa's highest town at 2100m above sea level and breathing can be an issue if you have lung problems. Include the following in your stay: Bird of Prey Rehabilitation Centre Milly's food store Whiskey, gin, brandy and wine tastings throughout the town The Fudge shop situated in the antiques shop The Clock Shop A drink at any of the pubs or eateries just savouring the atmosphere.

It is quick to get to Dullstroom from Gauteng.

It is quick to get to Dullstroom from Gauteng. The scenery, restaurants, tourist activities and the people make the place whole. Even though there are no franchise grocery shops such as Spar and Checkers, a delivery service will come handy.

We have stayed in Dullstroom many times, and it never disappoints! On this quick one-night stopover we ate supper at The Dullstroom Inn. The roaring fire in the fireplace has been alight since 1980 - so a lovely place to eat on a cold winter night. The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

the friendliness of the hotel staff. the room was always clean. firewood was plentiful. nothing was too much trouble ' we ate in the hotel & lots of different restarants in Dullstroom, all were good & value for money. it's very easy to get around Dullstroom. wouldn't avoid anything. everywhere was a pleasure to visit.

It was my partner's birthday, so we went to Clarkys Lakeside...

It was my partner's birthday, so we went to Clarkys Lakeside restaurant to celebrate, and it was nothing short of amazingness, from the staff to the food to the venue itself. We tried exploring as many restaurants as we could but because it was cold, we only managed to do Dunkeld and the Banks. The people of the town are very friendly and welcoming.

Lovely peaceful property with great views and silence. Visited in winter and the unit is well equipped to stave off the cold - had a very cosy stay. Nice touch for the pet friendly accommodation is the outside enclosed space. Is outside town but is a short drive making it easy to pop into Dullstroom for groceries or eating out.

We stayed in one of the tents as 2 kids and one adult. The beds were clean and there was great hot water. There is a braai on the veranda for a charcoal braai. I liked that I could watch the kids while they fished and they had rods to rent. Beautiful location. Direct route to Dullstroom is a gravel track that requires a 4x4.
