Absolutely everything: nice, modern, comfortable unit with a Pool outside, fully equipped, nice staff. We stayed there, because we visited the Addo and it was very close to the South Gate. Gas Station, a Restaurant and Supermarkt very close by.

What makes The Studio so special is the lovely owner's couple Juanita and Atti. 😍 They welcomed us as if we were friends. Thanks so much for the time ❤️. They invited us for Baai, which was awesome! Juanita and Atti are very open and communicative as we love to come in contact with locals when we travel. They live in the same house, but the apartment is separated. And they respected our privacy! Nevertheless, the apartment is awesome as well! It was spotless clean, very well equipped with everything you need for selfcatering! The fittings and furnishings are beautiful and with so many lovely details! The pool in the yard is very nice and refreshing in the heat. Its just a 10 min drive to the Addo Elephant NP, where we had 2 wonderful days🐘🐘🐘😍. There is a small supermarket and a restaurant very close. Colchester is a safe area. We would definitely come back! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

The host is really really nice and makes a beautiful breakfast, the location is just 5 minutes outside of Addo NP and is a safe place. They also help you with advise when you want to travel to the next spot. So you know where it is safe. The beds are really comfy and the showers are good. I can recommend this accomodatie to everybody.

This was definitely the best place I stayed in South Africa. The bed was comfortable, the food was amazing, the stars were incredible and the staff were divine. I arrived with no food and no transport and they bent over backwards to make sure I was thoroughly taken care of the entire time. Highly, highly recommend. Thank you so much!

Is was great we felt home right away. The hotel manager was the most nice and hospital person with wonderful recommendations and tips. She took great care of us. Breakfast was great, location is very convenient towards addo elephant park (South Gate) with shop, restaurant at walking distance. Beds were very good, WiFi was good. I would definitely come back.

Lovely views from the deck where excellent breakfast was served. Lovely choice of jams as well as hot food made to order. The river trip kindly arranged for us was great. We got to walk over the dunes and see more of the stunning scenery and colourful birds and learn some of the history of the area. Our 2 rooms were like a mini suite and perfect for us. The melon and ginger jam at breakfast was especially delicious.

My stay at Adventure Apartment, Colchester was truly wonderful. The space was exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated, and offered a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. Every detail from the serene surroundings to the warm and welcoming ambiance, was thoughtfully arranged. It’s the perfect place for anyone looking for comfort, tranquility, and a touch of elegance. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to visiting again

We stayed at Dungbeetle River Lodge for 2 nights while...

We stayed at Dungbeetle River Lodge for 2 nights while visiting Addo. We arrived in the late afternoon and then took a full day game drive from the lodge. It was a bit much for us and would do a morning game drive next time. The experience was awesome, it was just too long for our pensioner bodies! Staying 2 nights was perfect because the evening gave us a nice recovery period before we hit the road for our return to Cape Town. Dungbeetle River Lodge was a perfect location from which to travel into Addo. It's literally 3 minutes from the south gate of the park.

Not a quaint little tourist town, and somewhat disappointed with our stay (for choice of shops, restaurants and ease of access to the river, lack of info for St Croix marine reserve). The Sand dunes are spectacular, but also not easy to access as on private property. The day visit permit is affordable (via Pearson resort) yet this information is not easily available to visitors. Close proximity to Addo South Gate which is great. Some marketing PR would go a long way!

It is a dusty , dirty place a favorite stop-over for long distance lorry drivers and all that they bring with them. The only :restaurants" which are really only fast food eatery's and not very good a that. the only thing Colchester has got going for it is that is very convenient for the Addo Elephant park, other than that it is not worth a visit.

As a teenager I basically grew up in Colchester, not the asea as such, but we did a lot of camping over the years with friends and family. The views are just spectacular and if you love fishing it gets even better as it is a fisherman`s paradise.

The proximity to Addo National Park, River Cruises on the Sundays River was excellent. The Taste of Africa Restaurant was a delight with friendly staff and delicious cuisine. Shopping facilities were pleasant.

The property is beautifully outfitted and a fantastic location to Addo Elephant Park. Suzette was very kind and helpful and has created a fantastic retreat on the property. It is very safe with gates, screens and locks. The air conditioning was a nice bonus, although the house didn't seem to get overly warm throughout the day. The swimming pool was lovely and the gardens gave plenty to look at. We had a less mobile person in our group and she was able to easily get around the property and house.

We were upgraded from No 10 to 9, which is a huge house with stunning views over the Sundays River. All 4 bedrooms are en suite and the one we took had an aircon. Elmaree was great and sorted our problem with the TV out before we could blink.
