Gem in Cape Town Our stay at The Vineyard Hotel was almost accidental—just a single night stopover in Cape Town before heading deeper into the Western Cape. Yet what we discovered felt nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the beauty of the setting. Nestled in the heart of a bustling city, the hotel felt like a secret sanctuary—an oasis where the gardens seemed like a direct slice out of the Garden of Eden itself. The lush greenery, perfectly tended grounds, and tranquil atmosphere transported us to another world. The facilities were absolutely world-class, and the staff went above and beyond in every possible way. We wanted for nothing. Every detail was handled with seamless care and warmth, leaving us feeling both spoiled and at home. The food was exquisite—among the finest we’ve ever tasted in all our international travels. Each dish was crafted with a depth of flavor and artistry that elevated the dining experience to something unforgettable. Although our stay was brief—just one night—the impression it left on us will last far longer. We are already dreaming of our return, when we can take our time to savor this incredible place again. The Vineyard is truly a gem of Cape Town, and we cannot wait to return.

FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colourful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers a variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settling process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

Our family absolutely loved our stay in Cape Town.

Our family absolutely loved our stay in Cape Town. As a business owner travelling with my wife and kids, I found the city to be incredibly vibrant and welcoming. We particularly enjoyed the balance between the bustling V&A Waterfront and the scenic beauty of the Atlantic Seaboard. Hout Bay was a highlight, the kids loved the white sands and the seal boat trips. The city’s infrastructure made it easy to stay connected while enjoying a true holiday. Highly recommended for families looking for both adventure and comfort

I am actually from Cape Town and was a 'tourist in my own city'. Cape Town is a real vibe during the festive season. While most public spaces are crowded, I love that visitors are enjoying our beautiful 'bucket list' city. Being a local, I am more familiar with which times to go to certain places and which back roads to use to avoid crowds and traffic. There is soooo much to do while there, and I highly recommend the 2-day Red Bus Premium ticket, which is heavily discounted. Nothing beats cocktails at sunset, but please no DUIs! Ubers are always available and really cheap around the CBD/Waterfront/Atlantic Seaboard sides. The Waterfront is a real buzz and nothing beats a short boat trip. Local cuisine is delicious and affordable, and it's worth looking around and comparing prices. A visit to the local wine estates is also worth your while.

As a South African I am always amazed by how different Cape Town is to other South African cities, it's like you are out of the country but still in the country at the same time, you can't visit this city and not come back inspired, it is really mind blowing. the culture is so different in this city, everyone is minding their business doing what they like, and there is so much to see and to do, one thing I would forever recommend id the sunset at signal hill and Table Mountain cable way,

I liked the fact that it was safe to park your car outside considering our experience from GAUTENG; Cape Town has order, the roads are beautiful not potholes and the metro police treat with respect whilst enforcing the by-laws; Hey the beach water is too cold but you can enjoy the stroll; Security is top notch which makes us to enjoy the city with no worries as you can see and smell the system that is working for all to enjoy

Excellent location on Sea Point, in a nice area. A bit far away of the City Bowl but worth it, as it is easy to reach the historical places by Uber/taxi and much more pleasant to stay away from the center of Cape Town in the evening. Quiet small but stylish hotel with all the amenities you find a bigger ones ; welcoming staff and owner ; excellent breakfast ; excellent food and selection of wines at the restaurant
