The location of the hotel was just breathtaking. I didn't know such beauty existed in Bloemfontein. The butler was lovely, charming and so helpful. I loved the extra touch of heated towel rails. The breakfast being 3 courses exceeded my wildest expectations.

I usually stay over in Bloemfontein when returning from the Cape on my way back to Johannesburg. It is ideally suited for stay-overs en route to holiday destinations but I realise Bloem has much more to offer. The quality of the roads was unfortunately shocking in places with its abundance of potholes but I guess that is also true of my hometown, Johannesburg.

It's unique in that it is the size and heft of a large African city, yet has the feel of a small country town, with thousands of rose bushes coloring the streets. The literal translation of Bloemfontein from Afrikaans is “fountain of flowers”, which gives the city its nickname, “The City of Roses”.

I just came there for work and stayed only for a night.

I just came there for work and stayed only for a night. I hardly went out i slept and woke up and left. I did not engage with the staff or ate at the place. I was impressed by the hospitality of the staff when I was called to check if am settled and ok. I should point out that was unexpected. I travel alot and this was the first experience to receive a call asking if everything is OK. I bought Nandos as it's my favorite dish. It was very easy to find the place.

The people of Bloemfontein are not accommodative even when...

The people of Bloemfontein are not accommodative even when you go to the shop the tellers give you an attitude when you can't talk their mother language. When you talk English to express yourself because you do not know the language they show attitude to you. What attracts tourists to a place is the warmth of its people no matter how beautiful it can be.

It's a friendly city no wonder is a City of Roses.

It's a friendly city no wonder is a City of Roses. Great night life, sports facilities and accommodation. I enjoyed attending games at Toyota Stadium or Petrus Molemela stadium 🏟 The gave wonderful restaurant such McDonald's, Spur, & cinemas Bloemfontein is easily accessible and to move around.

I liked everything in Bloemfontein, I wish I could have...

I liked everything in Bloemfontein, I wish I could have stayed longer. It was a very chilled suburb (Fichardt Park) and walking around was refreshing, we went to Welthagen Park and had a good time there. I will definitely visit again.

Extremely friendly staff that was willing to help with all out needs, we're able to have him on speed dual if necessary (although definitely wasn't needed) The guest house is in an amazing location where you feel safe and can relax after a loooong travel or even if you're visiting in Bloemfontein. There are quite a few stores and restaurants around the area which made it quite pleasant not having to drive far and look around

The room had great self catering facilities. I had the included breakfast which was tasty and filling. I was glad to park my car in their secure parking as I had some stuff on my roof rack. Excellent value for money. The staff were friendly. I will stay here again next time I am in Bloemfontein.

It was our second time staying at Stonehill Villa and will never stay at any other place in Bloemfontein. The rooms are nice and spacious, with self catering facilities. The hostess that welcomed us and the morning staff were extremely friendly and helpful!
