Hanoi has all the charm and character that Ho Chi Minh City lacks. It feels sophisticated and cultured by comparison, the people are friendlier than in the south and the landscape much more beautiful. Charming cafes, ancient temples, bargain shopping, delicious food. My advice is keep out of the old quarter which is overly frantic

I loved the old quarter with all the cute coffee shops and local restaurants. people are so nice too. the lake is beautiful , the city is rich and vibrant. So convenient to move around with grab I am just not a city person so i was disturbed by the terrible traffic, the pollution, the lack of sidewalks but it still feels very safe to cross the streets.

Too many tourists and it’s a zoo that will be like Bali.

Too many tourists and it’s a zoo that will be like Bali. Also I found more expensive than pre COVID. Some hotels that were 50$usd per night are now more 80$usd. The old quarter is too crowded and i didn’t find the locals very welcoming. They might tired of the tourists!

The Old Quarter is fantastic, although make sure you head out to explore the rest too. Head to Hoàn Kiếm Lake after sunrise to see Hanoi residents exercising, join in or go for a run yourself! Getting around on foot is easy, if you want to go a bit further just use Grab to get a taxi car or bike.

I work as Reservation Manager at a 5 star resort in Bali and as a hotelier itself I could say that this place is truly exceptional. If you have never been to Vietnam yet, it would be best for you to come here first as the owner will happily give you a lot of helpful information and recommendations, also the transportation rate that he offers is cheaper than online transport there. The location is great as you can reach many popular places by walk, just ask the owner for directions and some 'hidden gems' as well in the Old Quarter.

Great place to stay in Hanoi's old quarter which seems to has been renovated just recently.. Room was nice and spacious incl all amenities. Staff was very kind and caring and they'd go above and beyond for customers satisfaction. One could see that COVID hit the Vietnamese tourism industry hard and now there's big competition. Anyway, can recommend the hotel unconditionally and wish them and their staff the best of luck. PS: Breakfast is a plus (Continental and Asian breakfast)

Eliana Ruby hotel offers great value, at a very affordable price compared to other places we've seen in Hanoi's Old Quarter. The staff was really kind and helpful (shoutout to Anna at reception!), the place was super clean, it was quiet (an amazing feat in this part of the city!), and we had the best sleep of our month-long trip through Vietnam (bed quality was insanely good!). Add to that the made-to-order breakfast and... well, it was just perfect.

Wow. What can I say. Perfectly located hotel in the old quarter. Really nice rooms. We had a internal room which was good because it was so quiet at night. The breakfast was nice enough . But most of all a special mention to Grace and all the staff. 5 star service and made us feel so welcome. They organised our cruise to Halong Bay, which was special Next time in Hanoi I will definitely return here. So good

Great location in the old quarter of Hanoi. The rooms were extremely clean, spacious and light. The staff could not have been more polite or made us feel more welcome. They were the best thing about the hotel. Breakfast was also very nice, a good variety of options from traditional Vietnamese food to western options as well as fresh fruit.
