Wonderful location and a great base for exploring that part of Uruguay. Staff were very friendly and efficient always had a smile. Even the brown dog ( Choco ) accompanied us on a couple of walks down to the beach !

Beautifully designed hotel with great outdoor and communal spaces, perfect for a relaxing break. Just a short walk to the beach or a longer walk / drive / bike to restaurants and shops. Exceptional service - the team were so helpful, welcoming and accommodating to us, including letting us use the facilities after checkout since it was a quiet period. A big surprise in the hinterland of José Ignacio. When booking, I was unsure whether the minimalist architecture might be too sterile, but it wasn't. With only eight very spacious rooms, a very exclusive affair - there was only one other guest there with us. Nevertheless, there is the full hotel operation with a really exceptionally well-trained and friendly staff and a service that responds within seconds. Actually, it seems more like a private home that has been opened to allow a few guests to enjoy this place. Wonderful!

My wife and I went to La Viuda as part of a weekend getaway for her birthday. It was an amazing experience from the moment we stepped into the property. The staff is amazing and the location of the hotel is hard to beat. We'll be back for sure.
