The views and the national parks and forestry was amazing.
The views and the national parks and forestry was amazing. Definitely worth a family trip to enjoy and explore. There was a lot to see and do and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Going to see the Bisons and taking the winding roads through Custers State Park was the highlight of our trip.

Nice town. Walking and biking trails readily available. Food options were good. Stayed in a property with a full kitchen so ate in mostly, full supermarket was nearby. Stayed over the 4th of July so it was busy.

Hill City is a great location for accessing several of the top attractions around the Custer State Park. Roads were much better than I had feared and made access for an early morning trail ride in Custer a breeze to access! Cute downtown shops and the LemonGrass Bar & Kitchen was a delightful discovery!

Hill City is one of the best places to visit in the Hills. There is truly something for everyone from a leisurely ride on the 1880 train, having your picture taken with Smokey the Bear to strolling the streets of downtown and indulging in a fantastic dinner at The Alpine Inn, no one in your group will leave disappointed with their visit.

I love the country side vibes, it’s peaceful and not chaotic. I love the steak house on Main Street it was by far the best on our stay. There were many activities around the area, wish we stayed a bit longer. Definitely will come back next time!

Very friendly staff. Big rooms. Very clean. Great bed. Great with the outdoor firepit (free firewood incl.). Lovely location just about a mile or two both from Hill City and the 2 wineries in the area.
Great idea to put a list of places to eat in the area in the room.
The location was just beautiful. The deck and patio is a great place to just relax. There was so much to see and do around the lodge as well as a very nice Hill City with lots of souvenir shops and restaurants.
