We loved how comfortable it was, and having a kitchen and washing facilities. The location was perfect, close to both beaches, so we could go for long walks, and the grocery stores were right near by. It was just great and we hope to go back in the future.

We went to Gloucester to go to an exhibit at the Cape Anne Museum. The only problem with Gloucester in general is that all parking is metered and limited to 2 hours within any given zone. This means it is impossible to really enjoy the downtown. We had wanted to go to the museum and then wander around the town and shops. Two hours is not enough time for that. And we were in the off season when, at least, you could find parking. It must be awful in the summer. Too bad.

Gloucester is located in one of the most historic and picturesque areas north of Boston. Rockport and the Cape Ann area are just a few easy miles from Gloucester.
I highly recommend a 2-3 night stay in Gloucester.

Never found downtown Gloucester but did eat at some fabulous places in the town and stopped in cute nearby Rockport. Lots of beautiful and clean beaches to choose from. Better than Cape Cod! We ate at a little diner down the road and at the fantastic Seaport Grill. Worth every penny. Just order less than you want. Portions are gigantic.

Gloucester is a quaint little beautiful town.
Gloucester is a quaint little beautiful town. However, everything closes very early with short hours of operation. Be prepared to eat early or may not find places open. Bookings for tours were sold out for the only day we were available. Will book ahead next time.
Travel back in time when you arrive at the Vista. I stayed there 15 years ago and it hasn't changed, the same worn carpets in the rooms, furniture you will find in thrift stores, and mattresses that must be pre-war production. The breakfast is also the same as 15 years ago, banana bread and blueberry muffins. But on the positive side and probably the only reason to chose this hotel is the location looking out in the ocean.
It was a motel style property, the rooms having lovely views across to Good Harbour Beach and the sea. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental style but sufficient. Good parking area and easy access to Gloucester and Rockport etc. The beach is a short walk. The pool is heated and a reasonable size with sun beds and shades.
Wonderful property. Attention to every detail both in how well the apartment was fitted out—the most comprehensive array of kitchen appliances and tools—and to the aesthetics of the wall hangings, furnishings, etc. A great place to come back to and just relax after a busy day in Gloucester and Salem. Host was very responsive.
Parking is a breeze we took our F350 Superduty and was a little concerned about parking space but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised...the rooms are huge and very nice ...TV is larger than most hotel rooms... coffee ..refrigerator and microwave in the room...we had no problems with anything😁👍
Great hotel. We enjoyed our stay there. Good location with ocean view rooms. Very clean, Good beds, bath, heating and AC. Nice, friendly staff. Good breakfast on a terrace with a sunrise view. Would stay there again and recommend to friends.
Had a great stay in Gloucester at John's Inn.
Everything was well taken care of. Friendly hosts happy to help and talk about the area. Wonderful experience staying in a historic New England house right on the harbor.
Love the location. The hotel was right in the middle of all my outings, that was excellent. My longest destination was 12 mins. The young lady at the front desk was super friendly and outgoing, a beautiful soul!
The beach was unbelievably beautiful, the hotel was so close to anything we needed, meals, groceries etc. ; and the staff were incredibly kind and knowledgable. And Bert the parrot was a gem!
Oh, my. Just everything. The fire pit, the views from our room, delicious breakfast, friendly staff, the walking path across the street and "hotel guests only" benches on the beach side.
Winter provision for a visitor for a fee days to attend an event sponsored by a friend at the hotel. Accommodated an early arrival when I drove up from NY. Outstanding concierge service
Location was great, half way between Stage Fort Park and downtown Gloucester. We walked everywhere. The owner, John, was very friendly and knew everything about the area.
Just everything. The hotel is absolutely excellent, so is everyone of the management and staff. Exceptional maintenance and cleaness. The location and view are both unique.
