FAQs about hotels in Boston

Where Everybody Knows Your Name

One of the oldest and most historic US cities, Boston is known as ‘America’s Walking City’. In its heart, next to 18th-century Faneuil Hall, is Quince Market - a food haven. The nearby seaport offers whalewatching trips and restaurants serving a Boston speciality: lobster with melted butter.

The streets south of the peaceful Charles River in Back Bay are lined with Victorian brownstone houses. At the downtown end of one – Beacon Street – is the Cheers bar, modelled on the 80s sitcom. Opposite is Boston Common, a large park with a bronze sculpture celebrating the book ‘Make Way for Ducklings’. The golden dome of the House of Representatives is by the other end.

The oldest part is Charlestown and streets around the Bunker Hill obelisk still feature old-style gas lamps, though now they are electric. Over in Cambridge, Harvard is the USA’s oldest and most prestigious university. The campus is open to the public, as is Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), whose central point is an emblematic, Pantheon-like building.

Sport in Boston is also a big thing, with the Celtics and Red Sox among the city’s big name teams.

The largest New England city, Boston has the perfect size for walking and cycling. Logan International Airport is connected by public transport to Boston hotels, motels, apartments and B&Bs.

Boston is a charming East coast city but I would rather come back again during spring or summer since the winter chill is rather unpleasant. My stay at the Wyndham was ok, the location ideal, the room clean and the staff very friendly. I would come back again for a few nights.

What I like about Boston is that it isn't a high-stress metropolis. It can feel like a large town, which is one of its best attributes, but at the same time it has plenty of big city things to do that range from light and fun to sophisticated and serious.

I am usually there only overnight. In the summertime I get to walk around. I was there in December, so no walking. I did find a really nice restaurant in Dorchester named Flames. It had delicious curry chicken and the best red velvet cake I have ever had.

Boston is a very beautiful city with lots to do and see.

Boston is a very beautiful city with lots to do and see. The city itself is a 10/10. However, the people are very rude and the streets are a nightmare. We were constantly getting honked at and flipped off for no reason. The streets are very confusing. I would recommend getting a taxi if you are not a confident driver. The towns surrounding it are beautiful and historic. You cannot beat the views.

A big city with a lot of history.

A big city with a lot of history. The Freedom Trail takes you to all the historic sites and past many famous landmarks. Take the train to get to other destinations and catch a Bruins game when they are playing at home. Check out the Union Oyster House for a delicious meal in a building with lots to learn about. In the winter go prepared for the cold, the tall building block out the sun and the wind whips right down between them. Beantown has so much to offer everyone from the young kids to the adults that love the city vibe.

We were at Boston for the marathon, many downtown hotels were prized ridiculious high, Boston Logan airport is about 20 minutes out of centre, close to the airport. Shuttles are available from and to the hotel, public transportation is within walking distance ( +/- 30 min walk ) or you can be dropped off by airportshuttle , picked up at wood island, a nearby train/metro station ) they had fruit for the many runners present days before marathon

We did not eat breakfast in the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a most convenient location in the center of downtown Boston. It was expensive relative to the facilities that the hotel has to offer - but I guess you have to take account of the expensive location. However, the hotel was in line with my prior expectations and so I was not disappointed.

The location was ideal for meeting friends in Boston, close to downtown and also walkable distance to MIT/Harvard, which was good. The staff were nice/responsive, the drinks (tea/coffee/beer/gin) were good. The bedroom was fine and Wi-Fi throughout the hotel was good enough to be able to work during my trip.
