Stopped in after driving up from Phoenix, AZ (like 18 hours) room was clean, lighting good, and most importantly the water in the shower was nice and hot.
The mattress was okay. But it was comfy and I slept well, perfect for a nights rest. Easy access to I84 west or east

We had a wonderful meal at Barley Brown's Brew Pub the evening we arrived and walked around town. We decided we would make another visit in the future. We did, however go to the Oregon Trail National Trail which was the purpose for stopping in Baker City.

Most stores and restaurants are closed on Monday and Tues. There are several art galleries. If you like local beer, you will be happy here. There is a tasting room for the only winery around and the wine is good. The nearby Oregon Trail interpretive center is fascinating and so well done.

I love Baker City!
I love Baker City! In March I visited and in May I moved to Baker City. It is cute, clean, friendly and has beautiful, historical architecture. The intact Main Street is wonderful, the restaurants are excellent, and the story of the city is very compelling.
Currently, there is a bit of snow on the Elkhorn Mountains and it is stunningly beautiful.

I love the renovation of the old buildings to keep history alive. Nice restaurants all within walking distance--our favorite is Sweet Wife Bakery.
Lots of art and murals on the street for everyone to enjoy. Peterson's Chocolates and Glacier 45 Whiskey Distillery add to the fun. And I even liked People Helping People discount store for the best book prices around.

The parks were great, everyone was friendly to obvious out of towers, even at the locals breakfast place we found for a 7 am breakfast on Sunday (Inland Cafe, delicious breakfast). Loved The Cheese Fairy, (my 8 year old started talking about going back the next day), and the hot chocolate at Paulson’s warmed us up perfectly, we also had a hard time leaving the bookshop, which had great displays of interesting books.
Here is the thing that as city folks we didn’t know that I wish I’d known. Up in Baker City, the winter season starts October 21. We planned our trip when the kids had a couple of days off school at the start of November, which in my head is still the middle of fall, but many museums and activities that we had planned to visit were closed for the season.

We stopped off at Baker City on our way to Portland.
The hotel is in a central location, a couple of minutes walk to the Main Street
We stayed in one of the newly modernised rooms.
Very clean and quiet rooms
There was a really nice breakfast on the lobby too
Highly recommend
Returning home from winter vacation. Several days on the road. Arrived late. Hotel quite, receptionist very friendly and helpful. She was very helpful and our room was very nice. It was clean and quiet. A great view of the valley.
