I booked this accommodation for what was suppose to be 2 nights only, and thereafter I was to leave, stay in other areas around the island to explore. The property is just like the photos, if not better! It’s quiet, intimate, super clean and very close to Nungwi beach & a variety of restaurants. I loved it so much that I decided to extend my stay by a further 3 nights!! As a solo traveller, safety and security was a top concern for me. The property is safe, there is a security guard at the entrance during the day & evenings. The food is delicious, the staff is attentive and excellent! I was fortunate to be welcomed by the owner Max when I arrived on the 5th of November! I appreciate that he took time to meet me and explain everything to me - where the closest ATM is, how to get to the beach and he shared some really great tips for my stay on the island!! I can’t recommend this place enough. If I ever come back to Nungwi again, I’d definitely stay here! My room is beautiful, comfortable with hot water. The WiFi is also great here, very stable!

The entire stay was a dream. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The facilities are immaculate and the views and vibes are unparalleled. I would absolutely recommend this resort for couples and solo travelers. It is nothing short of perfect.

Very friendly employees, they will do their best for you to have the most amazing experience. The food is REALLY DELICIOUS, the "seafood salad" and the "mixed prawns and calamari" skewers are a must have. The view from the hotel room is out of this world. I could not recommend this place more.

The entire property is really well laid out, with trees around the pool that give it a really warm and intimate feeling but also provide much-needed shade if you burn easily like I do. The food area and swing seats are inviting and relaxing, so it's a real oasis. The rooms are light and comfortable with good air conditioning. They are also remarkably sound proof, with some of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in in Tanzania. The owners and staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful, and I love the resident kittens they have taken in. The food was good and breakfast was filling and tasty. It's well located in that the beach and shops are in very easy walking distance, but it isn't impacted by the hustle and bustle or the noise that is common in other venues. A really delightful find, we will certainly be back!

The location was great, tranquil even though there is some construction next door. Pool and dining area….super cute, very instagrammable…is that a word?!? Okay now it is😅 Baraka, Jennifer and Jackson were extremely friendly and helpful, welcoming and accommodating as well. Breakfast menu is different per day, filling, tummy and served with fruits, coffee and tea. The room was quite spacious and tastefully decorated…LOVE LOVE LOVE! Definitely coming back when I have more leave days…And money to fly in haha

As SA travellers the people on the beach can be a bit much - but again you are interacting with other cultural - which is wonderful. Became friend with Daniel a Messai and will keep touch. The Zanzibar are warm honest people. I loved the Jumbo while walking along the beach

The vibes are great — everything you need is nearby,...

The vibes are great — everything you need is nearby, including shops, restaurants, and tour offices. Restaurants on the beach tend to be a bit pricey, but if you take a short walk into the side streets, you’ll find places offering the same quality food at much more reasonable prices. What I didn’t like were the beach boys — they’re nice and friendly, but can be a bit annoying as they keep trying to sell things. They’re not too pushy, but it’s hard to relax when someone approaches you every couple of minutes. The only time you can truly enjoy some peace is early in the morning. Important note : you have to strongly negotiate the prices and people are very nice and easy going Try to learn few words from their language they will be super happy :)

Many restaurants and beach bars , next to Badolina Bungalows . Good prices and good food at Baraka restaurant and Nanasi restaurant. And , also , at Zava restaurant. For excursions I recommend Yussufu , very nice guy and good prices .

Truly enjoyed the pristine beach and the laid back nature of the place. Totally enjoyed several meals at Fish Restaurant which were absolutely delicious. I tried Kingfish, Changu, Perch, White Snapper, Prawns etc. The seafood was phenomenal. We also enjoyed seeing the turtles and the artwork at several curio shops. Also enjoyed an early morning boat ride seeing the dolphins. I can't believe how fast time went by. Looking forward to visiting Zanzibar again.

Omg there is so much to do in Nungwi, when you have the right agent to take you around the sceneries , the people , all was worth it . Nungwi is just what you hear and see in pictures there is no exaggerations.

It is the farthest tip of the island...about 1:20 taxi drive...

It is the farthest tip of the island...about 1:20 taxi drive. Next time, I would stay on the blower east side where there are villages and hotels. But for first time Nungwi was lively offering many activities.

Mykonos vibes in Zanzibar:). Very beautifully decorated and You really feel like in paradise. The staff at the reception and the restaurant are really nice! Very kind and friendly! The room was so clean and the linens smelled very nice. Really good food quality in the restaurant, very well cooked and super tasty! The breakfast was so so so good and fresh. Beach and all shorts of local stores/restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. Super location!

Here you will fine the definition of «Hakuna Matata»! We have been in Zanzibar for 14 days, and stayed at various hotels in Stone Town, Chwaka and Nungwi. And we have to say that Babalao Bungalows has been the best hotel so far- and that is why we are back for the secound time during or stay! Here you really get value for your money. Both the staff and the owners are helpful and wonderful. We will be back!

Location is very convenient for the beach, the rooms are basic, staff are very friendly and lovely ! But few issues made my stay not so enjoyable, first the WiFi only works in certain parts of the accommodation, needs to have a better ceiling fan or AC as it’s very hot in Zanzibar, loads of lizards and insects around the rooms, Papaya has some room to grow to shine be a 5* accommodation

Staff was really friendly and helpful. Great location. I’ve been to many hotels in Tanzania and this hotel was the first one with a good shower and hot water. Also the wi-fi worked well. Good breakfast comparing to many other places in Zanzibar.
