The hotel staff is amazing! Justin gave me many recommendations on my travels, not just in Tanga, but all over Tanzania. The room was the perfect size for a solo traveler like myself. I enjoyed the hot shower too!! The location is very walkable and safe. I walked to nearby restaurants at night with no worries. I really enjoyed my stay at Phyllen Hotel...

We spent three days in Mawe Mawili swimming between the mangrove trees, chilling by the sea in the numerous shady spots, enjoying Hamis' delicious food and wandering on the beach and the villages juste nearby. We booked a tent but we were upgraded in a cabin, which was very confortable and beautiful, all wood-made with hand-made decoration. Fabian who manages the place was extremely nice and we had an amazing time thanks to him, Hamis and Ali.
