i have been to more than 40 countries, lots and lots of hotels, but this one is unlike any other - the jewel of this hotel is its stuff. we spent 14 days here as a family of 4 and enjoyed everything. room was quite comfortable, clean, was cleaned everyday also. it was january 7 th, the day we celebrate christmas in orthodox christian countries, and the hotel gifted us a tour to Nakupenda island, we did not expect that and were very greatful for the amazing gift. you will not regret staying here, very close to the beach and restaurants, breakfast was normal ( not a lot of variety, but you will not stay hungry), stuff - excellent, special thanks to Maryam and everyone else. if we ever go back to Zanzibar, this is the hotel we shall stay again. great value for the price

This is maybe one of the best hotels in Kendwa. Rooms are very spacious, food was great, stuff was amazing, garden - wow, beach was good although there were some boats in front of the hotel, but 20m from hotel there is another huge beach. It’s very quiet as well. The best here is that the tides are not that big because of the nature of the coast line, it’s not like on the east side where the ocean just disappears for kilometers. I can’t tell enough how thankful I am to Joseph the manager of the hotel. The day before we arrived I received a message from the hotel saying that there is an overbooking and we have to go to another Sansi hotel which is 5* but is located in Michamwi. I was really disappointed to hear that as we did a lot of research and wanted to stay in Kendwa. Then I sent a message to Joseph on What’s up asking for a resolution and to let us stay in Kendwa at least for few days. He agreed and everything was set. On the day we had to move to Sansi Kae they said that there is again an overbooking and sent us to another Sansi hotel in the jungle of Michamwi - Sansi Pearl beach resort. I have never seen such a beautiful and secluded hotel with a private beach just for us. It was so great. So at the end thanks to Joseph we have seen both coast lines. I will remember these people forever as they were so kind

The location is excellent , right next to the best beach in Zanzibar . There are several cheap local restaurants and a liquor store next to the hotel. Spacious rooms with a fridge. European style bathroom. Very clean. Nice helpful service. It's very safe here. Breakfast served on the top floor in the hotel restaurant is sufficient (fruit, tea, coffee, juice, eggs). The owner is friendly and communicative. You can pay by credit card. Wifi works flawlessly.

Had a very welcoming staff at the reception everthing went smooth from the moment i arrived .. my luggage's were taken to my room and was given a short tour of my room . The next morning i had requested breakfast at 6:30am was delivered on time. The staff has smiling faces throughout i will surely book with them again..

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to...

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to Nungwi, especially the south part. Even in low tide it was easy to take a swim. Also the beach here is wider and feel less crowded. As on the complete stretch there were many people trying to sell you stuff but on the south part not so many ”permanent” sales people other than the ones having sheds. The Maasai roaming around are friendly but just say no with a smile and most will not be persistent in their effort to sell you something..

If you are looking for white sand beach with the best ocean...

If you are looking for white sand beach with the best ocean waters and minimal tides, Kendwa is the best place in Zanzibar. The beach is the most spacious and greatest on the island and the village provides all the necessities you would need. With many tours and water activities offered on the beach you would hardly need to move anywhere else. It is also a walkable distance to Nungwi during low tide if anyone is interested in a more bustily environment.

The sea and beach with super soft and white sand are...

The sea and beach with super soft and white sand are absolutely fabulous and relatively clean. I got bitten by sand fleas on my legs because I spend a lot of time in the sea and walked barefoot. There is a lot of informal trade on the beach by locals trying to sell something. Maybe even more so if you are a woman walking alone.

The location is great, just a minute from the ocean, there are a lot restaurants both expensive and very local ones, no issues with electricity, hot shower and air-con and the safe box. Card and cash payment is acceptable. Very safe to stay and walk around even at night, the owner is very kind and trustworthy. Very basic breakfast but it OK, no TV and fridge in the room, internet is breaking so often especially in the room, but it works perfectly at the balcony. It is very budget friendly and highly recommend it.

Long walks on the beach, swimming even during low tide.

Long walks on the beach, swimming even during low tide. Some attractions are quite far and transport is expensive. Safari Blue Tour, Swimming with dolphins and turtles, Stonetown and the Serenity Spa were awesome. The trip advisor at the hotel assisted with bookings.

Great location on the beach, very nice and friendly staff, large rooms, beautiful grounds with many coconut palms Unfortunately, there is a lot of small plastic waste and cigarette butts on the beach near the beach chairs. Noise, pollution and danger from reckless jet ski drivers. DANGEROUS & Pollution

Perfect location, certainly the most beautiful beach in Zanzibar and not affected by tides! Beautiful place for holiday! Cleanliness of the room, cleaned every day. Very good wifi and coverage even on the beach. Very good price-quality ratio compared to other hotels in Kendwa. Good quality of food on the beach, served also on the sunbeds. Very cute local acrobatic dancers, Maasai and souvenir and excursion sellers on the beach, not to much intrusive. You can always have a little chat and joke with them. We enjoyed our holiday very much!

The staff and the location mostly. The restaurant is also good. The staff made me feel very welcomed, they are super! The hotel is owned by a local who cares about the clients. The location is the best in Kendwa and that is basically what you pay for and for having a private area on the beach with free chairs and umbrellas. There is always someone next to that area so you can keep your things safely. Towels for the beach are provided free of charge.

Good hotel with good facilities. The man in charge is wonderful at helping you with every need and all the staff is so friendly and fun! Great place for the full moon parties at Kendwa Rocks as it is a very short distance to the beach. It is included sun beds and pool at the beach which is a big plus! Stayed there two times already in a month, will definitely come back!
