What can we say about Mahi Mahi? We will never forget the four beautiful days and nights we spent there. Perfect, peaceful location, away from the crowds. Near the village, where you can go around exploring on foot (do it & support the local community!!) Stunning view of the ocean, delicious food, abundant breakfast and very good choices for lunch or dinner - prices of the restaurant more expensive than what you find in local restaurants nearby but still quite affordable. All of the dishes delicious - congratulations to the chef, who btw took the time to come and meet us :) I tried the "chef's special" everyday during breakfast :). Clean, spacious rooms, you wake up and sleep hearing the sound of the sea. Now THAT is a memory to hold on to during winter. Amazing service - thank you Sifa, Skola (special thanks for the on-the-go Swahili lessons to my wife) Justin, Ilias, and I'm SO sorry I forget the names of all the other nice people that made our stay so wonderful, we thank you all! The hotel was so Ply lovely and amazing. I was so happy that we chose this accommodation. The rooms are beautiful very nice decorated and well thought. The views are amazing and it was a very quite and peaceful place since there are only 13 rooms or something. The pool is huge and the beach setting wonderful. The service was extremely good. Everyone is super friendly and helpful and well trained. The food definitely great as well. The manager , a very friendly Italian person is always around and gives everyone a good feeling, very familiar atmosphere. We loved it and would recommended it warmly !

We had an amazing stay, it's a truly boutique complex where you can find anything what is needed for a perfect leisure vacation. The personel is amazing and really helpful, big shout out to all restaurant team as well as Joanna and Martin. Food quality is great and for sure you will not be hungry and bored with the selection as it usually happens with FB or All Inclusive stays. Everything is as on the pictures so if you are looking for a paradise stay that's the good address.

First off, The Spot is a really nice and relaxing place for a vacation in Zanzibar: excellent location right on the beach, quiet place, very clean, awesome food and really nice pool, plus one can see it's being continuously upgraded and rennovated. There's ac, a ceiling fan (even though sleeping with an open window, lulled by the sound of the ocean is something magical, I recommend giving it a go) a mini fridge, a full fresh bottle of water every day and a bed mosquito net in every room. But what's really amazing about this place, are Roberto and Valentina, the managers. These big hearted people really know how to do their job, they are extremely helpful and respectful and will really go out of their way to make you feel home and solve every problem or inconvenience you might experience during your stay, may that be a medical need, a food allergy (they took perfect care of a celiac kid's need without batting an eye), transportation, tour arrangements or simply a food preference (they offer delicious vegetarian/vegan alternatives if you let them know a little in advance); you just have to ask. I've been traveling a lot but rarely encoutered people so good at their job with a real genuine passion for it. Local staff is nice, professional and polite. Before booking I read other reviews and saw some (very few actually) pointing out various "faults" of this place but quite frankly, I found them to be utterly pretentious and snobbish: Zanzibar is an east african island: there's a language and cultural barrier, the occasional power outage (by the way, The Spot has a power generator that kicks in during these occurrences) and there is no ultra high speed internet access (again, the spot has a pretty decent internet access) so if you expect a ultra luxury experience, maybe Zanzibar is not the right place for you.

The hotel itself is very nice and it feels homely since there are only a couple of rooms. We ate most of our delicious meals on our own porch, which was nice.They even had gluten free pasta which my girlfriend was very grateful for. The room was very clean and the plants/the beach on the hotel grounds is well maintained. Strongly recommend this hotel for a few days of relaxation.

We really regret not staying here longer – we actually enjoyed it much more than in Nungwi. Beth is an amazing host, and her hospitality made our holiday truly special. The place is new and continuously being improved. When we booked, the pool wasn’t even built yet, but by the time we arrived, it was ready. The staff are extremely kind, and the food is delicious – the chicken shawarma is a must-try! Beth also helped us with everything, from airport transfer to programs, and always replied instantly. In terms of value for money, this was the best place during our whole Zanzibar trip. Prepare for an authentic experience – if we return to Zanzibar, we will definitely come back here.

Our stay at Hotel The Loop was truly wonderful from start to finish. The entire property is beautifully maintained, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. One of the things we loved the most was the freedom to walk barefoot everywhere—from the moment you arrive, you can slip off your shoes and enjoy the soft sand under your feet as you move from the bar to the restaurant, to your room, the pool, and even down to the sea. It gives the whole experience an effortless, relaxed charm. We stayed in a sea-facing room located slightly apart from the others, which made it feel even more peaceful and special. The room itself was small but very well designed, full of character and thoughtful details, with colors and décor that matched perfectly with the surrounding nature. The food was consistently excellent. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all delicious, with varied menus that kept every meal enjoyable. Another highlight of the area around Jambiani is how easy it is to explore. Simply stepping out from the hotel’s beach, you can stroll along the shore and reach small local restaurants without any effort at all. It’s a perfect blend of comfort, authenticity, and convenience. Lastly, the laundry service was impeccable—quick, careful, and very kind. It’s a small detail, but it really contributes to the feeling of being well taken care of. Overall, Hotel The Loop is a beautiful, relaxing place where every detail is handled with care. We felt completely at ease and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape by the sea.
